by Danny Bourbon on I wound up here last week for some Vice party so I don't know if the crowd is usually so greasy or boring. I guess they get good DJ's and shows every now and then though. I liked the space so I would totally come back and check out the standard action.
by Austin V. on I came by hear because of proximity and a local recommendation. No cover when we got there early at 10 on a Thursday. Spent most of the evening chatting up the bartenders and bar patrons and had a good time. Edo was spinning progressive house which wasn't bad, but not my first choice style for lounge music. I'd go back again.
by Kevin and Carol on This is a great neighborhood bar. Everybody knows everybody and if you don't know anyone there, you will. Friday nights they have dancing and a DJ. Its a very small dance floor but fun. On the other side of the bar is the restaurant with booths and a couple of pool tables. Food is pretty darn good.
by Yvette J. on As I'm reading through the reviews I'm surprised to see "romantic" and "great place to have dinner and have a glass of wine" as pluses for South City Kitchen. Don't get me wrong, the food is good (not great) but the ambience is lacking. It was so loud in there that we couldn't even have a decent conversation without raising our voices or repeating ourselves. And, the tables are practically on top of one another. I felt like I was sitting in the middle seat of a packed plane ride to China. I guess this is what happens when your restaurant is super popular.
