I went here back in May of 2008 and it was awesome. However, I am a 6th street n00b, so take this review with a grain of salt. Went here with a girlfriend of mine to go dancing and have a good time. I'm not a big drinker, so I only had one, but it was really tasty. There's a dress code which is cool, so everyone is all reasonably dressed up. There are three floors. The first two are ice themed, with lots of bright blues and whites and the third floor is fire themed, decked out in dark red and orange lights. The second floor is only part of a floor and you can see out onto the first floor. There's a bar on every level though if remember correctly. See pictures! There were lots of places to sit, which was a plus. And there were these cool little in-set booths on the first floor with blue lit-up tables. The dance floor wasn't huge but it was big enough for the people who were there and dancing. Although, as Anna S. mentioned there are a LOT of dudes just waiting on the sidelines to ninja behind you and start grinding their crotches into your booty. I am not joking and it freaked me out. I had to turn around and tell more than one guy to stop dry humping me plskthx. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned but what happened to asking? Or even making eye contact with me BEFORE sneaking up behind me? Rude. I just assumed this happened in all bars though, but I'll let you be the judge of that. And when my friend went to the bar or to call someone I can't remember, I had to pretend to text on my phone just to get no less than three males to leave me alone about how "it was their friends birthday." If you're going out to find a dude to dance with/possibly other things, then this place is for you! Otherwise, go with a big group of girls or at least some watchout friends. BUT I wouldn't call any of them creepy and I never once felt unsafe, it was just really, really annoying. Besides that, the bar is fabulous. I would definitely go back here. I suspect if I come back here with my boyfriend, I won't have the aforementioned problem again. :o) Oh yeah! And the music selection was awesome. I had a great time dancing to it and the DJ was great- the songs flowed seamlessly.

111 Minna is a shining example of what makes this city, The City. It's a perfect blend of local art meeting everyone's love for drinking, dancing, and being "seen." You come in sober-ish and make an earnest effort to peruse what's being showcased. A few drinks later the social/political commentary rears its ugly head. By the end of the night you're shamelessly grindin' on some (hopefully) hottie or doing that "if I squint and close one eye I know I can read the time on my phone" face that we all know too well. Art? What art? Where am I? Get me home ...or to Mel's! Why mami like: 1. The mixed crowd--from the hipster/ artsy-types to hip-hop boys and girls, and everyone in between. Basically, people who like art and love to dance. 2. No horrendous lines to get inside...or the pee pee room 3. $5 cover if you get on the guestlist (and can manage to get your butt there by 11 pm) 4. No dress code, but people definitely come looking sharp (it's what you make of it). 5. Ventilation--no sauna/ sweat-fest! 6. STAGE TO DANCE ON! Just check it out--come to drink, see some kick-ass art on the cheap, and dance your ass off!

Slide is that girl who says she's wearing Louis Vuitton but is clearly carrying a Chinatown knock-off and everyone knows it. Slide is trying so hard to be cool but is such a poser. First of all, when you get a table they impose some serious rules on your party. Yeah 1-1 guy/girl ratio. What is that? If I'm spending obscene amounts of money at your club, I should get to bring anyone I want, and you should just shut your dirty whore mouth. Second, even with bottle service they made everyone in our party pay $30 for entry! I don't care that it's a "special event." That's inexcusable. Third, it took everyone so long to get warmed up (in other words, drunk enough to dance), that the club was almost closed by the time everyone started moving. And even then it wasn't crazy. I'm sorry, I don't want to go to a club to watch people watching people, nor do I have to be falling over to start having a good time. Finally, once I went there on a Wednesday night with 3 attractive Frenchmen, one of whom was DJ'ing at Slide the next night. THEY STILL WOULDN"T LET THEM IN!!!!  It was insane. Slide, you need to stop frontin, you know you're not that exclusive or cool.
