by mabel s. on Night #2 of my wknd of *Non-stop Aggressive Rallying* w/ my Miami/UF g/fs from out-of-town....yes I have to say that my Miami/UF g/fs were here from out-of-town b/c then my reviews make more sense. (In case you did not read the review, Night #1 was at Griffin). Okay, so. They want to go to Marquee. My first thoughts were, "Are you kidding? Its SO touristy -Its fleet week - and I SO do not want to go," but after some pre-drinking at Tribeca Cinemas for a private bday party...my g/fs managed to get me in the mood to go to an obnoxiously large and highly over-rated club. At the risk of being called the group natzi, yet again - I graciously climbed into the cab.... Due to my friends connections: we walked right in, no cover ($40?!? are you F*ing kidding me?? I would NEVER pay $40 to get in this place, SO not worth it), a new bottle waiting for us at a very large booth that served as one of the 4-corners of a gigantic dance-floor-thing. It was like a horrible scene from a low-budget hip hop music video. Men were huddling around the edges of the L-shaped booths...salivating, contemplating, scoping out the next poor victim they were going to grind up against. UGH - I cringe at the thought. At one point, my friend said this guy trying to dance with her smelled like "dead people." At one point, I had to calmly tell a guy that was on his 3rd attempt to, "Get the f*ck away from me." At one point, I thought to myself..."I told you SO!" DISCLAIMER: I've been accidentally pushed around at a club/bar here and there. It's NYC and assholes are bound to happen, BUT this one takes the cake. ....I'm standing at the top of the staircase trying to find my g/fs who are now on the 2nd floor of this hazard-of-a-club. All of a sudden, two HUGE dudes who might have have been club employees started punching each other, RAMMED into me - my drink is spilling EVERYWHERE - I'm surprised I held on to my glass b/c hell forbid that it fall down to the 1st floor injuring someone....luckily this dude pulled me out of the way after the initial collision. When I finally regained my footing, I turned around to the sight of these GIGANTIC dudes on the floor: one of them is getting punched numerous times in the face and the other is shouting numerous obscenities. I believe the word "B*tch" was being used rather repetitively. Finally find my g/fs....two are chilling and one is off w/ some Will Smith look-alike...I try not to make a big deal out of the fact that my 5' petite frame was run over by 6' amateur boxers...buy a beer...and actually met a decent looking guy to have a decent conversation with who turns out to be the Will Smith look-alikes friend. Not a total loss, but there's NO WAY I am EVER coming back here AGAIN. 2nd night down. 3 more to go. You may have noticed there were more "shenanigans" divulged in this review and its made me tired. Night 3: CV Lounge. Stay tuned...
by Lauren G. on Yikes, how long has this place been open? Only a few months, right? Well, sorry folks, it's been B&T'd already, in a big way. An unfortunate thing for a potentially cool club. Me and 3 of my friends stepped out of the cab to head into Manor West for some post dinner dancing. Before our stilettos even hit the pavement, we were hounded by a group of heinous, and yes, I mean HEINOUS looking men, who excitedly explained to us that the bouncer wouldn't let them in unless they had a girl for every guy.. ok, first off...where are we, VEGAS?? omg this is freaking san francisco, why in the hell are the bouncers doing this??!? They then ask us to PLEASE go in with them and they'll buy us our first round of drinks. Ok, fine, a free drink? Sure, I feel bad for these guys. PS- There are only about 6 people waiting in line, that tells you something right off the bat.... So the bouncer literally makes a guy walk in, then a girl, then a guy, then a girl, then ..........holds up the line and makes the rest of us wait. We are doing these guys a favor and the bouncer breaks up our group. NOT cool. My 2 friends are already inside, and me and my other friend are freezing ass cold outside and the bouncer is just standing there!!! My friend loses it and yells at him saying this is ridiculous and we don't even want to be here, etc. bla bla bla. We get inside finally, the guys pay our $10 cover ($30 for guys.....are you SERIOUS???) and the manager comes up to my friend and says "It's pretty obvious you don't want to be here, here's a few drink tickets to help". Nice gesture. Once we were inside, the atmosphere was fine, and GREAT music. The only thing is, we looked around, and 90% of the people were just not even remotely cute, all the guys were short, and the majority asian. Not hating on my asians, trust me, just an observation. B&T'd to the max. We stayed 1/2 hour and then left to go to Harlot (Which none of us had been to before) and holy hell why didn't we start there??!?! SO MUCH better! Great music, good looking people that weren't creepy and nasty, too bad we got there at last call! :(
by Petrina Jobs on The view makes up for the expensive drink prices. TRUST ME... You will impress any girl up here... Pencil this place in on your next night out on the town... Never been to there club on the weekends, and I don't think I want to know what kinda people club here :(
