by Elise h. on The venue itself, and the set-up of the club is sick! 3 floors, one of them is a rooftop. Getting a table on the rooftop is pretty flippin awesome except one thing. The crowd. I think this place would attract so many people if it had a better crowed. The club goers here are very....ghetto, or urban or whatever. I dont mind that, but when its the WHOLE crowd it gets a little annoying. A mixed crowd goes a long way, just saying. But anyways, the rooftop level is really nice. We got a table there and really had a good time. I checked out the second and first floors and they get more and more ghetto as you go down a floor. Probably wont come back here until they step up their crowd game.

The venue was a bit difficult to find considering there was no signage out on Sunset Blvd., but luckily we took a right turn just passing the address and saw the parking lot on the immediate right for valet and entrance to Kress. We arrived fairly early (930PM) and went straight to the ground level for the restaurant/bar/lounge area where warm hues of dim lights and velour lounge chairs welcomed us with deep house music in the background. The decor was amazing!! We sat at the bar which is located right at the center of the vast room with high ceilings and ordered cocktails. What a great place to lounge! The restaurant turns into a lounge later in the night. We then proceeded downstairs to the basement - Wow. HUGE! The music was off the chain, playing dance hits where you can't help but hit the dancefloor and shake your shimmy. The only downfall was that it was hot - really sweaty. I think it is the combination of being downstairs in the basement and also from the uber crowded dancefloor where people were actually dancing, not just standing and moving side to side, but dancing their a**es off. I had an awesome time! So much fun.....thank goodness we arrived early because I saw the masses of folks outside around 11 PM waiting to get in. So as always with H-wood clubs, when in doubt, arrive early! Have fun!
by Gstar K. on For the love of my friends I went here once. But if they love me, they'll understand I don't need to revisit. Simply put, not my kinda music. Or crowd. Yeesh! Saw both really young goth heads & a pretty old couple trying to reclaim their youth. More power to them, but less fun for me. Also not fun: overpriced drinks. Perhaps in pre-college years I digged trance. Evidently, my tastes have evolved over the years & thus need more than just lyric-less synthesized sounds to keep my feet dancing. Strangely latin grooves & ballroom is looking good thanks to that TV Show Dancing With Stars. Then again, to each his own.
