I've been to several performances in this intimate space which I now go to since the Empire Plush Room closed many moons ago. The marvelous Veronica Klaus was last night, and the amazing Paula West in the next week or two. Our group of 10 arrived on time to be seated, and were waiting in the long line to get in. So far, so good. My friend Kent had reserved a table for us in advance, so we assumed we'd get a good table. We were wrong, The hostess, trying to do her best but failing, seated all of us in the very back row of the room, even when we told her we had paid more for the expensive tickets to get a better table. No such luck, as she'd already given the table away to other patrons. Right after the show started, she had the gall to come over to my friend and ask if he would move over so she could accommodate some late-comers to the concert. He told her no. Good for him. Minus one star for them giving up our table when we were on time and putting us in outer Siberia in the venue.

Racist.  We knew this bar had a dressier attire requirement, so we wore our nice shoes.  Once we arrived, we waited in a short line to get in.  However, when at the front of the line, we were told that we were not dressed well enough to be allowed in.  This was odd since we had watched numerous people enter in less dressy garb, and one even entered in sneakers and a baseball cap.  While meatpacking establishments may be allowed to freely discriminate against whomever they please, there was nothing wrong with our clothes.  Unfortunately, it was probably my friend's skin color.  I'd say you should avoid this place at all costs.  With over 10,000 places in NYC authorized to serve alcohol, this sort of behavior should not be rewarded.

Only can muster up 3 stars for Salt Lick. Brisket is dry and ribs are not that well done in my opinion. BBQ sandwich is probably their best meal. Main thing is the sauce. It is too sickly sweet for my taste. Not the real Texas BBQ I love to find. So, just an OK. If you are in the Airport, then this is most likely your best option for a meal.
