by Melissa W. on Went during fleet week, which was crazy, but even with a group of 10 we were lucky to find a table on one of the boats near the front- much less hectic than the back. The burgers were actually really good, as was the skirt steak. It was all pretty expensive though. Do they take credit cards? I thought it was cash only. You have to find your own table and get your own food, but you can stay as long as you'd like and it's nearby a lot of fun things to do.

The service was good and the dance floor/stage area were well designed, but otherwise the place was nondescript. I went on a Wednesday, so maybe it just didn't have the same vibe it would have on the weekends. I really was expecting more. The neighborhood is kinda sketchy, but that's the trend these days (cool bars in sketchy areas). Anyway, if you are into red, this is the bar for you.
by Nancy L. on Nice interior (but you can't sit unless you've made table reservations and, yes, you will be politely asked to get the f--- off the couch if you haven't made reservations). The music sucks unless there's a headliner house DJ. My girlfriends and I were never asked to pay cover when, about a month ago, the douchebag bouncer at the door suddenly decided that we had to fork over $20 to get in. WTF. If you want to even out the male:female ratio, don't ask women to pay. I'd go back for a birthday party or MAYBE to see some fabulous band or house DJ. But, I'm sorry - call me spoiled, call me cheap, ain't no shame in the game - I refuse to pay to get into a club unless there is a guaranteed rockin' good time, guaranteed eye candy and a guaranteed kick-ass DJ and music. Vessel does not guarantee (and rarely does it deliver) any of these things. I don't want to be a total bi-atch so, I will say that Vessel gets brownie points for the free coat check (the hottie behind the counter is soooooo sweet, tip her well please) and the occasional metro boy hottie. I'm not really into guys that are prettier than me but, if you are - hey, to each her own right? :)
