by Hayden Tabon on This STK is almost a carbon copy of it's LA twin (see my review), but a little more snotty. The menu seemed pretty much the same as the LA restaurant, as did the drink menu. The clientele here is pretty much blah to my taste. Upper 20/Mid 30 crowd looking to be seen. This isn't the place to do it. Sorry, but I think the LA location is MUCH MUCH better.
by Charissa I. on Chill spot. Music is on point, drink prices are reasonable, line can get a bit ridiculous but it's understandable. My only suggestion, specifically for southbay heads-- don't come here on a night where all of SJ is in the house. It has happened to me. Sick of the home crowd and in need of a change of scene, run away to SF, come here, and see all the people you wanted to avoid? Uncool. Don't worry, Minna, I don't blame you guys for that one.
by Truman Lavanway on I've been a regular there since moving to Jones Hill last year, so I've got some dbar hours under my belt. Great food. Definitely gay and loving it. Very friendly staff. I do agree with the prior comment that this place is all about the gay boys. I'm not sure women are not invited but being a gay boy I don't know that I would pick up on that vibe if it were present. Best bets off the menu: Hanger steak, Tenderloin Tacos, and Pom Martinis. My only gripe is the long wait for entrees. Appetizers and drinks come pretty fast, but more often than not I am waiting for the main course. I would tend to blame the kitchen because when the food does arrive it's hot, so it's not likely they were sitting around waiting to be picked up. Maybe a second small gripe is that the servers do tend to cluster for long periods of time. I have felt ignored at times but that's pretty rare.
