Went to parish for a birthday celebration for a group of 14.  The service was amazing and the food and wine couldn't have been better. Can't wait to get back to one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta.

Bad: Despite reservation a month in advance, the wait was still over an hour. This was for a 9:30 reservation on a Tuesday. Very bad: noise level at the bar easily exceeded that of two subway cars hitting the station simultaneously, but lower in pitch. It literally made my ears hurt. Good: The place is very pretty, but it is more of a night-spot than a restaurant. Good to see and be seen, not good if you want to enjoy a meal.  Don't miss the giant Buddha. We left before being seated, sadly, so I can't comment on the quality of the food or the table service.

I love animals. Take me to the zoo, and I will stare at the pandas, talk to the warthogs (they need friends, people, come on now), and watch the monkeys for hours, especially if there's baby ones.  Yes, I am a sucker for babies and small, cuddly things in general, like the majority of America. Patrick and I were able to go to the Georgia Aquarium when he came to visit me here for the first time (poor guy still lives in Ohio while I'm living here for this show, so we don't get to see each other too often and try to spend our time wisely!). We took our time and enjoyed each exhibit, listening to speakers, watching videos, staring at the whales and peering at curiously camoflaged seahorses.  I took some fantastic photos of the jellyfish (see photo), and we spent a good amount of time outside watching the sea lions push each other off the sunniest spot on the rocks.  We both loved the overhead tank, where we would watch the fish and sharks swim all around us and over our heads, though I can see how, on a busy day, that area could be uncomfortable. A small side wall that I thought was incredible was a display where they explained how they transported the whales by UPS... on planes with giant tanks in them!  That is just unbelieveable to me.  SO cool. My favorite spot by far, though, was the huge tank that took up an entire wall (see photo)... it was AMAZING.  I felt like a little kid, staring at all that life - which felt LARGER than life - swimming around in front of me; and it's always fun for me as a kid-lover to watch the kids with their parents or on field trips seeing some of these things up close, sometimes for the first time.  Their excitement and enthusiasm and endless wonder are inspirational, and to me are why these kinds of places exist. I am also convinced that these kinds of places are the best to go to for the main event of a day long date, because there's so much to see, sometimes you actually learn something, and you definitely work up an appetite for some grub later on.  Plus I got to catch Patrick laughing at a little kid being cute, which melts a lady's heart, fellas. While I'm sure it's insane when it's crowded, I experienced none of that by going on an off-day and at an off-time, so I enjoyed it that much more.  We both loved our experience there, and hopefully will get to go back again sometime!
