As far as the LA club scene goes, The Colony is at the top of my list and here's why: 1. Derek (aka the best bartender in LA) shook our hands and remembered each of our names and respective drinks every time we returned to the bar. I was very impressed when he added more Maker's and reshook my Manhattan after determining it was too short. In reality the original drink was at the standard thumb's width from the rim and I would never have complained. I agree that slightly more makes a more complete Manhattan and a REALLY appreciated the attention to detail on a busy night. 2. The decor is beautiful, clean and comfortable. It's kind of a nautical theme, so I was trying to tie it in with the name and decided they were going for Christopher Columbus...although in reality it's "The Hamptons meet Hollywood". The bottle service tables are well-placed throughout the club and there is a bar in the front and the back so there is good flow and contact with the dance floor. 3. Great atmosphere! Most of the music was VERY fun to dance to, although the DJ kept the songs changing so constantly that if we were really into a song we'd be bummed because it would end too soon (bonus if the song is lame :) ). Everyone on the dance floor was having a blast. It reminded me more of a fun house party feel then a pretentious club as far as attitudes go. 4. Beautiful people. Big groups of girls, guys with bottle service. Hot, friendly staff. The usual. 5. The bathroom was always clean and I never waited in line. Guys and girls share a sink area. Things to keep in mind: 1. It isn't cheap, and any bill over $75 will automatically be charged a 20% gratuity. Not to worry though, the service you will get is worth that and more. 2. There is "no" general admission; only bottle service and guest list--but if you are polite and look like you're ready to have a good time and contribute the their vibe they'll probably let you in. Thanks Colony for a fabulous night!!!

The Good: + Filet Medallion - medium rare - fantastic + Mushrooms and fries, excellent sides + Tuna tartar with plantains, delicious + Service was prompt, waitress was friendly + Seating upstairs (private parties I think) is gorgeous, downstairs in the back (large parties) is also very nice, seating in the front (small groups) sucks The Bad: + Having to tell the bouncer (yes, this is a restaurant) that you have reservations + Waiting  1/2 hour for a table despite having reservations + Place is swarming with bankers (of the obnoxious variety), my girlfriend was stared at the entire time we were in the place + Seemed like  1/2 the place was there for a business dinner, lots of suits and ties + Extremely Loud! Be Prepared to Scream - this place feels like a club or maybe more accurately a peculiar lounge that loves playing 90's rock and pop + You're likely to get sat next to very loud, drunk men who haven't been out in three months and consequentially have forgotten how to STOP STARING AT MY GIRLFRIEND Takeaway: Food was very good. I'd come back if someone had a private party upstairs. It's the only way to isolate the amazing food from the unfortunate scene downstairs. Three stars.

Monday night was great!  Went here with 3 other girls and we were skeptical at first since we weren't sure how the crowd was going to be. The line went by quickly and we were hustled in after we each paid the $10 cover.  The place had an awesome vibe- everyone was there to have fun and dance!  The DJ was great and played an ecletic mix.  The crowd is very diverse in a good way.
