Ruby Skye is for people who appreciate good House and Trance music. Their sound system is unparalleled in SF. They also bring in the top house and electronic DJ's in the world, including Kascade, Benny Bennasi, John Digweed, Victor Calderone, and Markus Schultz. I really don't frequent bars, clubs or lounges...I am an early bird and I don't drink.  My idea of fun is a midnight run along the Embarcardero.  I don't go here for the crowd--I am an avid fan of house and trance, and sometimes a powerful sound system + top DJ = absolute BLISS. I wish they would have a cordoned off area where the sober people can hang out to appreciate the music! The go-go dancers are true artists...GoGoPro girls actually know how to DANCE...they are not your average young things shaking and shimmying their assets!  The people-watching is equally entertaining.

A lot of people on here are complaining about the service they received. I was almost too lazy to write this review but felt compelled to do so in defense of Yoshi's. And no, I'm not the owner's daughter or wife, haha. My BF and I went on a Thursday night and the only glitch I noticed in service was that it took a few minutes for the maître d' to make his way to the front desk. We had reservations and were sat promptly. We had a maybe 40-something year old lady as our server and she timed everything perfectly. Our drinks came out promptly as did our appetizers and entrees. She noticed when our drinks were done and asked if we wanted another round. I liked that she didn't come around TOO often. I dislike when I am constantly being checked on. We ordered dessert and that came out in a timely manner as well. I found our server to be a very polite and experienced server. I wouldn't have changed a thing about her. The food was wonderful too. This was my first time to Yoshi's and being that it is a music club, I kind of expected the food to be mediocre. I was wrong! The food was very tasty. Cheap? No. Too expensive? No. I felt the pricing was appropriate for the good quality of food and beautiful atmosphere. The only thing I didn't like about the set up was that we were sat at a table that divided us from the table next to us by a slightly transparent fabric. Had the couple next to us not been a clone of two of the Jersey Shore characters, this would most likely not have been a problem. But we got to hear about how horny she got when drinking too much and about how him and his buddies popped open "mad bottles of Dom P." on New Years Eve. If you have dinner before the show you get preferred seating. I didn't know preferred seating meant feeling like a high roller! We were sat in the second row of tables and the view was perfect. Roy Hargrove with special guest Pharoah Sanders was playing that night and the show was amazing. I love live music of all kinds. This was a vibrant group of people that loved what they did. You could tell. They played great music and looked happy to be up there. Perhaps other Rateclubers have had bad experiences. But give Yoshi's a try. I had a fabulous time and plan on going back soon.

I met a few friends out on a Sunday night here at good ol Copelands.  I had heard this was a cool spot if you are looking for something to do on a Sunday when I first moved to Atlanta, so when my friends were out and wanted to meet/grab drinks here, I was all about it. I cant say I really knew what to expect, but I know that whatever it was that I got, I would have never imagined. Only in Atlanta can a Sunday night at a mainstream restaurant in the city feature to wanna be/former strippers dancing on top of tables (this is a weekly/normal) thing, in risque outfits. Just seemed a bit out of place, but call me crazy... The drink was decent...but hell how can you mess up scotch an soda... Didnt get to try out the appetizers, but they looked very average....doubt ill be back...
