I created a rateclubs account specifically to write this bad review. DO NOT bowl here. The entire experience was ridiculous. FYI, the below happened on a slow Sunday afternoon. 1) My bf called ahead to ask if there was a wait or if we should make a reservation. The woman said "I don't know." When asked to clarify, she said "We don't have any reservations for today and it doesn't seem crowded, but I really can't say because I don't know how many people have walked in." What does this mean??? We decide to go anyway. 2) We get there and ask the woman at the front desk if there is a wait for 2 people. "I don't know." Oh no, this is the woman from the phone! She continues "... but if you go up to the register, she will know because she is in charge of the lanes." OK -- well why isn't that the person you speak to when you call? 3) After waiting a while for the woman at the register to acknowledge us, we are told the wait is 40 minutes. Um, this is why we called? We were given a buzzer and went to have a drink at the bar (the bar is the only nice thing about this place). We noticed there were at least 7 open lanes visible. She says "We have open lanes, I'm just going through the wait list in order." ??? 4) We finally get to bowl, but our lane shuts down after 1 game (we paid for 2 games). So I quickly go up to the register and nicely tell her what happened. She asks to see my receipt because "the computer" says I only paid for 1 game. Meanwhile, my bf and I had an entire conversation in front of her when we purchased 2 games about whether we should get 2 or 3, but she still treated me like I was trying to steal a game. I told her we didn't keep our copy of the receipt but we paid $51 which is the cost of 2 games. Again, she asked for the receipt. I ask her to please look for HER SIGNED COPY of the receipt so she can check the amount we paid. She points to the locked register drawer and says "I can't, it's in there." So I say "well, can you please LOOK IN THERE because we paid not too long ago, so it should be right on top." She sighs and then starts looking through a messy pile of crumpled receipts ON THE DESK (not in the locked register like she said). She finds it and sees that we did indeed pay for 2 games. She says "Ok go ahead. it was an honest mistake." ??? Also, the waitress brought us the wrong drink and we had to ask multiple times for our check. Go to Port Authority or Bowlmor, the management of this place is completely unacceptable.

This wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst. That's not saying much, considering this place has one of the best locations around. Drinks are better elsewhere, the music varies depending on which night you go, people are a good mixed crowd, and they hold special venues and events here, which is perfect for the large indoor and outdoor areas. Still, there's a few other spots in the area I'd try first before going here. Not really all its hyped up to be.

The actual place is decent - there's enough room to move around. Also, not being able to feel the sweat dripping from that creepy guy next to me is always a plus. I am also ok with the music - not my favorite but again, not bad. For what it's worth though, I have to disagree with Sergio and say that the $20 ($15 if you're on the list) does not filter out that much of the usual sleaze. It's not really any worse than any other place, but it's just not that swank. It really doesn't strike me as a bad place... but overall everything just struck me as MEH. If a bunch of my friends are going to be here for the evening, I would probably show up but I would not be the first to suggest Underbar for a destination.
