by Princeton A. on Vanguard represents everything I hate about large nightclubs. It got extremely worse when Giant moved to Avalon. In all honestly it does feel like a the last underground bomb shelter except that it does not shelter you from the overly aggressive security and horrible crowd. I was happy when I heard Vanguard was closing down for refurbishment but that rumor was a cruel joke. I once had a nightmare that I was trampled to death during an overcrowded event but then I woke up and found myself bang in the middle of a David Guetta performance. New clubs opens in Hollywood all the time. by Diana D. on I came to dinner here a few months back and I was meeting up with 15+ women, we all belong to a social networking group, but most of us had never met before. This place was the perfect spot, though the arrangement of the table made it difficult for one person on one side of the table to engage in conversation on the other but everyone seemed to have a great time. I love how you can see your food coming out, and the fact that the servers bring dishes out as they are finished. Having been a server for over 5 years this makes things a lot easier because some dishes are at their peek right when they are finished cooking and having them sit around for other entrees ruins their taste and not to mention their temperature, this place could pull it off without it looking like bad service. Our server was very nice and accommodating. I had the pinto noir, Opolo which was great and I highly recommend it. If I ever go back I would most likely being going with a much smaller group and there for would plan on sitting on the roof, you must check it out if you are ever there for drinks dinner or the club scene the view is amazing.
