by Elli Hutnak on Okay so I can't be totally against a place that I went to with people who knew other people who knew the people manning the door; in other words my friends and I got in FREE bitchessss! For starters, I just cannot take too much of indoor smoking. When will Atlanta learn that there is more to night life than having non smokers leaving an establishment with second hand smoke filled lungs, ashtray influenced hair and clothes that reek of stagnant cigarette air?! I can't take much more of this Atlanta! Soon I'll just stay home with my friends and say F the Atlanta nightlife - that is until a ban is placed on being able to smoke indoors at public places. There is a little bar place/dance floor deal downstairs, but during the night that I went, I didn't see what was so great about it. Our group traveled back upstairs to dance and what not and I was approached by a guy that wanted to dance. On any other day I would have been happy to dance, but I was already under a time constraint as it was and declined. The best thing about Door 44 are the fans conveniently placed throughout the club and trust me when I say that they need them because the air doesn't flow well in there. This place is down the street from the Opera Nightclub so maybe on my next visit to my home town I'll stop in there. For now I'll just stick to my LGBT bars and nightclubs and save heterosexual dudes the heartache of only being able to look, but not touch lol! :P
by katherine c. on free VIP table and free bottle of champagne? why the hell not! its funny how it all actually happened. a friend of a friend was having a birthday here and we were asked if we wanted to come if we had nothing to do on a friday night. i was just rateclubing sloane to see how it looked and i saw that they had posted an email contest to win a bottle of grey goose. never hurts to try right? so i emailed them. i was told that the winner was already chosen but just email them list of names and they can put everyone on a "house guest list" - guestlist that is free all night. that actually was good enough for me but when i gave them the list, CASS said because i have such a big group, im able to get free VIP table and a bottle of champagne. pretty dang awesome! got there around 11 and there was a lot of parking around the area. asked for donnie and he greeted us really nicely and showed us right away to our table. he had given us a table downstairs but we asked if we can get a table upstairs and he said no problem. i loved how the table comes with a little section for ice so the bottle stays chilled. even with the free bottle of champagne we got another bottle because it was fairly reasonably priced. sloane is a pretty nice intimate lounge. my only complaint would be that there is no ventilation in the place and no in and outs soo cant step outside to get some fresh air, and it kind of lacks room for dancing. overall i had a good time, thanks again CASS and DONNIE and our hostess (which i can't recall the name)
by Ivey Meulemans on We went for a friends birthday and I have to say I was not impressed. The waiter spilled a whole tray of wine on my friend and did not even apologize. The steak was a so rare I heard the cow mooing. Also I ran into a glass wall as I running to answer a cell phone and the hostess just stared at me like I had three heads. She never asked if I was ok. The food not great, the service horrible BUT the one good thing is the crowd was very fun! It made up for the dinner
