Oh okay, I get the three stars. I was thinking I would kind of really REALLY love this place after stepping inside and marveling at the adorable historically maintained, yet restored decor, but well, that's not 100% the case. East Side is definitely more of a restauranty kind of place (I did peruse the food menu and there are vegetarian options - maybe something even vegan? Will report back if I ever try the food here.). A bit classy and sophisticated, but not stuffy. Let's go with boho-trendy? Anyway I've only imbibed in the cocktails both times I've been here. FYI, don't you dare to order your go-to simplistic go-to drink - they won't make it. Just stick to the fanciful cocktail menu choices - somewhat complex cocktails with bitters, egg whites, and other things I know very little of, hah. So once you place your order, assuming the bartender will actually notice you (something about only have one bartender fulfilling dozens of complicated drink orders on weekends = not the wisest set-up), brace yourself for the eternal wait. Yes I know he can't exactly toss these things together, but this isn't Europe with the leisurely expected lags in service, this is the USA, I want my drink STAT. Or at least under 30 minutes. Good gawd! But the cocktails are nicely concocted, but I can't say they justify the incredibly slow service. And oh yeah, of course the drinks aren't "bargain" but they do have to factor in the various exotic ingredients and bartender (or should I be saying "mixologist?) labor. There was some sort of jangly kind of musical act here last Friday - kind of cheesy, but my friend was strangely fascinated by their get-ups and music, so we did linger around the bar area. The aloof bartender eventually warmed up to us as we ended up being one of the last ones remaining as the minutes ticked away. The courtyard in this place is quite gorgeous and I can imagine it being an adorable date destination. It's enclosed, but still in the open air - so do take advantage, weather permitting. The ladies restroom is worth mentioning because it's a bit of the glamor adorable. Red-themed with cutesy little trinkets and decor. I can appreciate that, even if it's in the restroom - okay?! I guess I should mention that this probably isn't the optimal place for single people on the prowl. I noticed that everyone here was pretty coupled up or intimate with the groups they came with. All in all, not too bad, but I'm not enamored, like I thought I would be.

Surprisingly there aren't many good pizza choices in the Center City Philadelphia business district, so Pietro's is defintely our choice when it comes to a terrific pie!  Love the Margherita pizza and love the chicken ceasar salad.  I get this every single time I visit.  I don't think I've ever eaten anything else.  No reason to!  Service is so-so, portions are worth sharing and you can expect to take home your leftovers - you won't want to leave them behind!

This place is horrible. They won't keep tabs open, so everything has to be cash unless you are buying $35 or more in drinks each time. This place is very sketchy an no fun. Do not go to this place... There are a lot better places to go in Boston.
