Is it a club, a restaurant, a place to grab a drink while watching a Steven Segal flick at the bar TV? Before and after visiting this place, I'm still not sure exactly what it is supposed to be. If the idea is, "we've got something for everyone", I'd have to respectfully disagree. In any event, the food was not that great (but Segal is still hilarious, so I suppose one star).

At first, I was hesitant to pay the entry fee for this place. $27 and that does not include the 3D adventure showing. That's insanity. But as I left the aquarium, I felt that every single dollar spent was TOTALLY worth it!!! My friends and I entered the aquarium on a Thursday at 4pm. Their closing time was 6pm that day. I was worried that we wouldn't be able to see everything in 2 hours. This is the largest aquarium in the world right?? We entered and once we entered the atrium, we just stood there and gawked. Trying to take in everything around us. This place in definitely HUGE... We worked our way through every single area. I can't count how many times I said "wow!", "look at that!!", "so beautiful"!!, "scary!!"... Each section was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. And I'm not good at remembering names of marine life, but I do remember that this place has 3 beluga whales and 2 of some other type of HUMONGOUS whales. And they are adding an entire dolphin wing that will be completed next year. My advice to anyone who is thinking about coming here. Go on a day when the place closes at 6pm. Come here at 3:30 or 4pm. You will have EXACTLY enough time to see every part of the aquarium without feeling rushed and you won't have to wait in a really long line to get a ticket, or fight your way through the crowd to get up close to the window to see the fish.

This was my my very first visit to any of the Improv Comedy clubs ever in my life. Took the chance to go since it was a free show (Asian Comedy Night - 3/6/08), it was dinner time, I got to see my friends, and lastly- I rarely go out at night during the weekday after work... Thought I would mix things up by going out and meeting the gang. Dinner: Dinner was great, I would rate the prices reasonable (although to some it might be a tad pricey)- $8-$20 I am rounding. The menus is decent, ranging from Show Starters/Appetizers, Soups/Salads, Pasta, Entrees, and Deserts. Being dinner time and all, and with the friends, it was great. There was free bread & butter to start, if that's anything important to the very hungry- at least they tie you over w/ nice bread and butter to subside the hunger a bit. ;) My best friend and I shared the Chicken Flautas- marinated grilled chicken, veggies all rolled up into a friend flour tortilla. Very good, especially topped off w/ guac, pico de gallo and sour cream. You can describe it like a fresh chicken taquito, expcept in a flour tortilla. I didn't want to go too heavy on the dinner, so I opted for a sandwich- BBQ Prime Rib Sandwich. It contains the following: "Thin slices of prime rib and sauteed onion served on a Ciabatta roll, topped with melted Swiss Cheese and BBQ sauce. Served with seasoned Fries."  -Courtesy of Improv's menu. This is one tasty sucker, smothered in (not too much) BBQ sauce. It can get the hands a little messy. Not dry at all, full of flavor and the ciabatta bread was nice touch for a bun. Didn't care too much for the fried, but they weren't bad, nice side dish to the sandwich. Show: The show started at 8pm, got a close/near front to the stage seat. Since my friends and I had dinner at their dining menu, we weren't required to do the "two-item requirement" during the show since our dinner expense covered that. The comedians were ok; my friend did say that the last one (in Brea Improv) was a lot funnier. But nonetheless, it was a nice show, especially if it was for FREE. Some of the comedians weren't asian, but they were great. Any comedy that lets us laugh at our asian-selves is worth attending. Parking: (Lack there of) There's Valet, but it looked like he just parked our cars on the sidewalk like the rest of them. Anyways, to close this, I think I would do it again. Especially if it's at the other locations too. Plus it gives me an excuse to get out of Little Tokyo and do something different for a change.
