This place was fantastic! My friend lives right across the street and he took us out to dinner here. We had 5 people so we got this private alcove where we had to take our shoes off and sit on pillows. It was great!! The food is incredible and the ambiance is fantastic. We didn't stay for the show, but I got a laugh out of the hostess when I said "honey, we ARE the show".

It was good, but not great. We live only a few blocks away and have been waiting to save Morimoto for a special occasion because our expectations were sky high. We ended up just going on the fly this past Friday night & I was glad we didn't save it for another time. We made our reservation through Open Table (like we do for most restaurants) and when we got to Morimoto the hostesses asked us multiple times what our name was. It took about 15 minutes for them to figure it out & get us seated. No big deal, but I expected things to run a little smoother. The ambiance is very cool, very Steven Starr. It's business casual, but flip flops and a collared shirts were everywhere. I am sure in the winter it's a bit more formal. My only complaint is that it is noisy. Our server was great, knowledgeable about the food, and gave great recommendations. We started with the Tuna Pizza and Pork Belly... both delicious & reasonable, especially for the portion. We had the Duck & Mixed Seafood in butter sauce (i forget the name) for our entrees. Both were good, not great, and a little pricey (about $35 each) for the portion & taste. We ended with brownies & chocolate mouse. Both were nothing special & not worth $20. I don't want to sound frugal, because when it comes to food, I most certainly am not. BUT I was disappointed... maybe it was because my expectations were too high, maybe not. The meal started great and went on a down slope. We won't be going back.

This place has THE best music ever. The place isn't small, but it ain'tt huge either, you know whatta mean? You'll be bumping plenty of elbows and all but the late 90's and 2000's hip hop music make up for it. We got there early and there was an even number of girls to guys and the guys had to pay about 20 dollars. If you're on the list, the girls don't have to pay anything until 10:30 or 11. The bouncers there are awesome. I lost my phone and other things from my purse and while I found everything else but my phone, the bouncers came up to me even after the club was closed to see if I found it. Luckily some girl found it and just put it down next to me. Only thing I really didn't like was the "outdoor" patio area that had the bar in the back. Everyone smokes back there where I saw a lot of roof and closed space, even though there was air circulation, I couldn't stay there for too long. But I guess I'm being a prude.
