Once upon a time this place was awesome. But the last two times I've been the experience was extremely subpar and offensive. We threw a party there, meaning paid, and they treated us (a huge party btw) like we didn't know what was going on or didn't belong there. F*ck them part 1. F*ck them part two involves me and my cohorts going the other night and being harassed about having cameras despite a photo pass...there's more but I just don't feel like rehashing it. Outside of the set up and the size of this place, their security team has made this one of the most undesirable destinations for me in hollywood.

I came on a Friday night. 10 dollar cover for guys. Got in, good mixed crowd. It was poppin' this night. Two tiny outdoor smoking areas. I believe, two pool tables with various arcade games. A main bar right when you walk in. A large dance floor on the side equipped with it's own bar. Good set up if you ask me. A lot of ample seating areas. I had no problem with staff or service. Here's what I learned from this night at Busby's. I've never fully noticed how aggressive guys can be until this night. I was there with my homie Danny and a few of my female friends, and for most of the night we had to be on CB (COCK BLOCKING) patrol. *A guy step in to our personal dancing space... he tugs at one of my friends. Mind you, he isn't politely coming up to her and asking if she wants to dance... he just rolls up and tugs at her arms. She gives me that "HELP" look that I became really familiar with that night. I step in as the temporary boyfriend... Random GUY 1 COCK BLOCKED. *A group of guys roll up... again, no eye contact with the my lady friends for confirmation, they just roll up from behind and start freaking them... The most disgusting thing I've ever seen. Again, I get the "HELP" signal and duty calls... I step in and cock block all three guys at once. I didn't think I had it in me. GROUP of GUYS COCK BLOCKED. This continues to happen for most of the night. I don't know how you ladies do it, but kudos to all of you. I saw this real cute asian waitress with a beauty mole get harassed by this really old asian guy. I felt soo bad for her. He was tugging at her like as if she was getting mugged. Mugged for her number. What a crime!! Otherwise, this place isn't bad. Cool spot to drink, hang and shake your ass.

We'd already been walking through the Mission for a while looking for a decent watering hole with little success.  Already eager to get on with the evening, we decided on The Rite Spot. Based on the exterior, I was fully expecting a room full of kids in skinny jeans and striped shirts to choke on their PBRs as I (in my navy blazer glory) opened the door their best-kept secret. Imagine my delight, then, when we are greeted with soft piano music and a group of like-minded bar patrons just looking for a spot to drink and chill.  Major selling points? 1. Our ability to quickly sit at a candlelit table and 2. inobtrusive background noise that let us carry on conversations at reasonable decibels. The piano music we heard was good, but my respect for the place fell a little when the singer decided to ask for, nay sing for tips, and wouldn't leave us alone. I couldn't speak to the prices of the drinks since my companions were wonderful enough to take care of me, which definitely added to the enjoyable evening.  I think it's a great place for grabbing a drink with cool people, I just wish that woman didn't have to sing at us for so long.
