Brandon C. wrote "Trunks is a dirty old man bar" and I really don't know that I can say or write anything that explains it better than that one sentence so eloquently expresses in seven words. I can walk from one end of West Hollywood to the other and be very comfortable, but I'm almost certain to get leered at by whomever's out front at trunks in a way that makes me feel like running down the sidewalk calling out, "I need an adult! I need an adult!". I'm sure your panel van is lovely, and while a lollipop does sound delicious and tempting, I think I'll just sprint in the opposite direction for a little bit, mmmkay thanks. I keep hearing how drinks are so cheap here, but have to take people's word for it. The only two times I went was at a friend's insistence, and I was so hesitant to go that they needed to bribe me by paying for the drinks to get me in the door. I'm kind of happy this place exists, because it keeps the creepers in one small area and out of the good places I like to frequent. That being said, if you like the dive bar feel, if you like shooting pool, or if you're in a committed monogamous relationship and you'd like the be in the one venue that offers the least temptation in the neighborhood, this is your place. More power to ya.

Saw Chris Stamey and Peter Holsapple last nite, a real treat given the great sound system and intimate atmosphere. Non-surly doormen. They don't have a particular genre they specialize in (Flipper and the Toiling Midgets) played there the previous nite.  you can get front row table service for the show if you obligate yourself to a pre-show dinner. just don't do it if Gwar rolls into town...

I was invited here for a birthday party. I heard a lot of good things on rateclubs so I was really excited. The valet was $5 and the cover was $7. We arrived like at around 10-ish. The first room was really empty throughout the night. The second room - the hip hop room - didn't get going until about 11:30pm. The bartenders in the first/empty room were very nice! The drinks on this side were strong too! The drinks on the other side were a little weak and the bartenders not so sociable. Midori was there promoting drinks - free drinks until 11pm! Now, remember I came here for a party. We had two tables reserved. My friend and I sat in the second table drinking our drinks and low and behold the waitress comes up and tells us we have to move! She sold the table ($150 bottle service). We moved and then the party girl told us that another table was available (only after she confronted the waitress). So we sit back down. Now turns out my friend doesn't do hip hop (wtf why did you come then?? lol so I did a lot of sitting and drinking. Some dancing but only when we went to the bathroom! lmao) It took 4 drinks to get my buzz going - usually takes about 3 - so that should tell you how weak the drinks were. So guess who comes around to tell us that we have to move? The same f-ing waitress! She says and I quote, " OMG - I love you guys, I really do but I just sold this table. I sold this table for $150. Omg I am so sorry but I love you guys." I was a little pissed since the tables were reserved for the whole night and this b*ch was only interested in getting her commission. So we left - couldn't bear to get thrown out of another table! Moral of the story - Little Temple is not for parties! But the music and the crowd were good. Got a little crowded but that is how you know it's good! lol  And best part - Hot dogs for sale outside! yum! And a 7-11 across the street.
