I went to Bongos this past Friday with a group of friends, as we waited by the bar for the rest of the party, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that they were doing a happy hour!! The Bartenders rocked, event though the bar was slammed (BTW: great happy hour crowd ) we never had to wait for a drink and even got free apps at the bar (i guess they offer different specials for happy hour and we just so happened to get free apps)!! Once the rest of our party arrived, we got seated by the hostess and our server greeted us. The dinner was amazing,, yes I will admit that it is a bit more pricey than going to a little Cuban joint, however you get so much more atmosphere and really its not all that much of a difference. Another great perk was because it was Friday (happy hour) and we paid our check before 9pm, they gave us 20% off the bill! After our dinner we were notified that the restaurant turns into nightclub, we were originally planning on going to south beach, but figured might as well stay we wont have to make a line, pay a $20 and deal with parking. We ended up having a great night! Definitely will be going back!!

I went last night (Friday night.) If you're into the Asian crowd-- this place is good, but not exactly my cup of tea. I waited in line for about 5 minutes and when my friend went to the front to see how long the wait was--  the bouncer responded with "couples only right now",  so he grabbed my hand and we were in.  The rest of the group got left behind and didn't get in until 30 minutes later. It's very easy for girls to get in (like most places), but guys-- you have to have lady-friend or be prepared to buy a bottle.  Oh there's a $20 cover if you don't get there by 11PM. The number of guys in this place definitely outnumber the number of girls. I was wondering why this place had such a long line, but I figured it out when i got inside. The girls wear some pretty... scandalous outfits. So THAT'S why these guys are lined up outside.  HAHA. Oh here's a tip for the guys, (not just at this place, but ANY place) women don't find it flattering when you just GAWK at us -- at least pretend to dance! It creeps us out! There were times where I felt like i was on a basketball court and the dudes were watching on the sidelines or bleachers. I was quite happy that i had a guy-friend to protect me from some of the mad- sketchy guys. So girls, if you're single and don't mind getting some uncomfortable attention from a bunch of guys-- then check this place out.  haha. The DJ was decent at times and BAD at other times. Overall, it was an OK place.. The bar is pretty much like all other bars. There are various selections of mixed drinks, but if you only like beer-- they only serve japanese beer. If you don't have cash and pay by credit card, you have to spend $50 bucks at the bar because there's a $50 minimum. My friend got double charged-- so make sure you check your bill!

If I rated this place purely on my experience inside the club, I would have given it five stars but, I have to account for the line out front.  It felt like we waited in that line forever.  Once we got in the club, I had no idea why.  Sure, the club was crowded, but not crowded enough to hold the line up for that long.  I understand that the longer the line outside the club, the better the club looks from the outside, but still... think about your patrons about to spend way too much on drinks.  The $20 cover was also a huge disappointment but it was my first time at the club and I know that there are ways to get around that now.  They gave me a free pass for future use, which is one of the ways to get around the cover. The interior of the club was nothing special.  It consisted of a bar, an adequately sized dance floor and a balcony.  There is a lounge upstairs but I never made it there.  The drinks were priced reasonably and the bartenders were very pleasant.  The music was great.  We went on a Friday for remedy.  A live house music band was playing that were incredible.  Everyone was dancing and smiling and getting into the music.  I had fun, met some great people.  I'll be back.
