Wow, I love this venue!  My friends and I saw Sandra Bernhard here last night and had such a wonderful time.  I can't believe it took me so long to see a show here. I've read some of the other reviews and there's not much love for the Maitre d', but I thought he was funny (in a quirky kind of way, not in a telling jokes kind of way) and the guy had a great memory.  He introduced us by name to EVERYONE sitting around us and would do the same thing every time he seated newcomers.  He might also have a touch of psychic ability because he welcomed me by my first and last name before I could say anything or show ID.  (No, I'm not a celebrity.)  I threw out several guesses as to how he knew, but he wouldn't divulge his secret.  (OK, I know...he was probably guessing, but it was a fun game.  I'd make a guess every time he walked by our table and he'd just shake his head and smile.) The Maitre d' seated the three of us in a great spot, but I honestly don't think there was a bad seat in the house.  The sound in the room was good and it seemed like every seat had a clear view of the stage. It's a little bit of an expensive evening once you figure in the cost of the ticket, the surcharges (although you can save a couple of bucks by buying your ticket at the door and just paying $5 on top of the ticket price) and the two-drink minimum, but I wouldn't hesitate to splurge again on an evening here every once in a while.  I'll definitely be checking their calendar regularly!

When Oslo re-opened I was stoked that there was another sushi place downtown. I went about four times in the first 3 months they were re-opened. I was always either the only person in there, or one of few (both at lunch and dinner). Even if I was alone in the restaurant (literally, the only customer), service was still on the slow side (and items were sometimes forgotten about). The sushi chef is very nice, and does a great job. The thai food is really delicious, and they have a lot of veggie options. I haven't experienced the downstairs club since it reopened, but I did not enjoy it the first time around (just not my scene). Overall, I'm not impressed. If I want to eat sushi downtown I typically won't go here. It's not bad, but for the money and the iffy atmosphere it's just not worth it.

Although on the expensive side, I would recommend trying the VIP sections.  That's the only way you'll be able to have some room to breath.  It gets crazy downstairs and you'll have to go through that crowd to get to the toilets and out for a smoke! The back yard is nice! The place has potential but they have to work at it!!! The cover is expensive for what you're getting.  Drinks are just OK and crowd, ehh.  There is no variety.
