by Jenny B. on The ambiance of this place is what really draws me. On the outside it looks like a diner then you walk in and see this HUGE pretty "chandelier". The whole place is really well done artistically. We were taken to the second floor/mezzanine area and got to sit in the basket swings that were soooo comfortable. I had a bit of a cold so we got some miso soup and warm dishes to share. I'd def go back here when/if back in Philly :).
by German Ishizu on We went to XIV on Valentine's Day. I had such an Amazing Good time I feel Bad giving them only a 3 Star but I must be Truthful. The decor is Absolutely Beautiful it's the Old Hollywood Glamor Style. I don't like the seating against the wall and requested a table in the main Dining Room. I expected to wait but they seated us quickly right in the Center of the Dining Room. We had the perfect table and a Wonderful Waitress name Tai. This Hot Spot has a Cool Vibe, A Friendly Staff and Good Music Thanks to the D-Jay. But because it was Valentine's Day they had a Very Expensive $$$$ Preset 8 course Wine Tasting Menu and that's why I gave them a 3 Star. The Food was Delicious! But my Husband put it best when he said the portions were so Small he thought we were getting "Punk'd" ha ha. We know a Tasting Menu is smaller than the usual, but these Portions were Ridiculously too Small. Especially for the Big Price. So much in Fact the People seated across from us could Not Stop laughing about it. The Best part is where they lacked in Food they Certainly made up for it in Wine. I Loved every drop and the Wine Pairing was Perfect. Make sure to have a designated driver like we did. I Love XIV and on any other Day or Night this would be a Great place to go. The Outside Patio is a Unique and Pretty place that looks out to Sunset Blvd. A Must See.
