by Benton Dedrickson on What the what!? I actually had the amazing experience of going to this place completely in the dark about what it was all about. Someone local in the group just made the decision and so off we went. You mean, this bar, right here, that is next to this sketchfest motel? Ok! Flash the license, head in the door... and BAZOOM! Go with a sense of humor and leave your timidness at the door. Drink a lot, have fun, and swear on Jimmy Carter that you will never get old.
by Peter T. on This place is beyond lame. First off... what kind of restaurant has a bouncer out front? Really? Second, said bouncer pretended like we didn't actually have a dinner reservation when we did. Third, there were at least 6 tables open when we got inside for our 9 o'clock reservation which they claimed to have lost (really I think they had decided my friends weren't "cool" enough to eat there) and were still giving us grief about seating us. Fourth, since when do dvf wrap dresses for girls and tailored slacks and oxfords for guys not qualify you as being "dressed appropriately?" It's Wednesday... this is what we wore to work, were you really expecting us to go home and put on like clubbing attire on a Wednesday? To go to dinner? I don't think so. If you are going to pretend like we aren't dressed "well enough" to eat at your restaurant maybe you should try enforcing that policy with the rest of the trash dining in your "high class" establishment in jeans and t-shirts. Finally, it was restaurant week and they tried to pretend they didn't have a restaurant week menu. Fifth, the food was awful. The duck spring rolls I started with tasted like they came from KFC and the curry I had as an entree was so bland it was like chewing paper. Never coming back here again... EVER.
by Joseph N. on I came here for a b-day party and pretty much the place is VERY small. It almost feels like everyone is locked up in jail or something. Just looking around and seeing numerous girls in skin tight micro-miniskirts almost makes it seem like I'm in some sleazy Macao casino with all of the prostitutes working their night shifts. VERY IMPORTANT: The bartenders are shady and will do a bait n switch and replace your Grey Goose shots with cheap vodka. The bottle may look like a Grey Goose bottle, but it is filled with the cheap stuff, so be aware. Before the end of the night, I supposedly had a shot of Grey Goose with a friend, but when she tasted the drink and it was VERY harsh. We just had bottle service earlier that night over there with a bottle of Grey Goose, thus we know what it tastes like. That and usually the premium stuff goes down really smooth. So when time is up and the place closes, the security guards get hostile and collaborate with SFPD waiting outside to kick the living crap out of the customers 5000 feet away from the club. Even across the street in the parking lot, the security guards will harass the people that parked there and let SFPD continue with the harassment. I don't see how SFPD can start harassing people inside a parking lot for no reason. Anyone care to start a lawsuit? +2 stars: For the plentiful wannabe Macao prostitutes walking around the club. Very good eye candy. -1 star: the place is too crowded and seems like prison. -1 star: Bait and switch alcohol, paying for premium and getting generic stuff. That ain't cool. -1 star: Getting trapped and roughed up by the security guards and SFPD when the place closes. Talk about only wanting your money and literally leaving people out in the cold. If you're down to visit a strip club and are too cheap to pay for the lap dances, you come here to see the wannabe strippers. Personally I'd stay away, unless those wannabe prostitutes start giving lap dances and they stop with the bait and switch alcohol.
