If you're ever in need of a good laugh, cry, or heart-stopping, thought-provoking remedy, you're guaranteed to get all of it here - all on the same night. You can even get your dance on. Friday Night Slams are popular so make sure you get in line early to snag a seat. The host is awesome, the DJ is live, and so is the crowd. It's $10 a pop but well worth your money and you'll be supporting artists that are about something. Plus, you can't put a price on reviving your soul.
by C P. on Okay, who in their right mind builds a nightclub in the what seems to be the ghetto-est area of Tenderloin? Not to mention, I could barely see the sign...(wait, was there a sign?). While waiting for the line to move, I had to hold my nose because it smelled like pee outside. Hm...yea must be the 1000000000 homeless people wandering around. Makes me feel all warm and safe as I'm walking 2 blocks from the car to the club in my dress...not Inside was okay. Crowd was more...ghetto...I guess. Music is alright. Can't really complain I'm not the hugest fan of hiphop (electronic please), but the hip-hop was probably on the better side of what I've heard hip-hop wise (especially compared with Temple lol). Got your top 40+old top 40's too!! God love you whoever was DJ-ing (+1star for you) Fortunately I didn't pay (knew promoter), or else I'd be PISSED!!! (so +1star for not paying lols) When I went there was seriously nobody there. I thought it was because it was early. Hour later, STILL nobody there, so my friend and I bounced. This has got to be the worst club out of the ~10ish clubs I've been to in SF (yes, even worse than Impala which is pretty damn ghetto). Needless to say I'm not coming back.
by Cliff R. on My boss has taken me here for lunch a few times so I'm basing my review on that. Tao has a great lunch Prix Fixe menu where for only $24.01 you get an appetizer, entree and desert. Not bad for an expensive, poshy Asian restaurant. From the menu, I believe they're trying to go for Thai/Chinese cuisine and I must say they do it well. I've had the chicken in red curry as well as their salmon dish which was excellent. My boss swears by their General Tso dinner which looked great. The decor of the restaurant is sublime...that's the only way to describe it. With the water, large buddah and beautiful walls...you have to see it to believe it because from the outside, you only see these two huge doors...go inside and your transported to something out of the Golden Child (strange reference I know...but I was looking for a poll to spin and yell out: I want the kniiiiiiife...pleaaaase). Definitely a great deal for lunch and an impressive date place.
