by Darwin Achord on Kress has potential, but there are just too many things that leave you either annoyed or wanting more. The entire place is a maze with a too many levels and jam-packed stairs to climb. Definitely good to come here if you missed your morning workout, but I'd prefer a place without so many places to get lost. The main attraction, and probably the only real reason to come here is the upstairs level. They really spent some time making look nice, the views are great, and they've generally got some chill edm music playing. Unfortunately, many times this level isn't even open. The downstairs (underground) level is the complete opposite and looks and sounds like what you'd imagine in a nightclub that's trying a tad too hard. Music that plays too loud even for a club, an overabundance of shiny lights to make it feel like "a club," and top40's-only djs that are hit or miss. Tone it down a bit. On the Fridays that I went, the crowd was lifted straight from the far-east. I'm talking Mandarin speaking here, Canto words there, long Jay Chou-style bangs everywhere. And if you like watching amateur Asian fight night at the Apollo, wait in the parking lot after 2am and grab your popcorn. Last time I had the pleasure of getting front row seats to a whiny chick-fight, and the girl who got beat ended up crying. And I still had to wait 15 more minutes for my $20 valet. My advice: self park it elsewhere...or maybe just go elsewhere. Cheers.

They aren't even charging a cover... it's free to get in... and yet... if you leave... they won't let you back in... anyway so we got back in... ninja style. Bartenders were cool, beer for five bucks? I got a shot of patron next door for four bucks... but that's just my magic. There was a fight, and I shit you not the guy who got in the fight, we saw him in handcuffs next to a car crash on the bay bridge later that night. there were a few attractive girls but the type of attractive girl...where...it's like... they don't like meeting guys at bars...but you think to yourself "man... if i met this girl at work or something she'd totally dig me because she wouldn't be all defensive and stuff" yeah...like that. Oh, and my friend complimented this girls really big glasses and she said that they allowed her to see...like...spirits? And I thought she was being sarcastic until she gave my friend the glasses and said that he couldn't see the spirits because only she had a personal relationship bla bla bla she was insane. Cute though. Probably the daughter of a hippie on too much LSD. I'll tie this story back to the club by saying...honestly no come backs? Not even charging! double you tee eff
by Jud P. on Mexican martini, that's all you need to know. They're a little expensive, but there's a reason there is a limit of two. That's all I needed! The atmosphere here is fun and everyone looks like they are having a good time. The wait-staff is spunky and snappy. And the food is tasty, big, and cheap. Definitely a place to check out if you're in Austin.
