Classy... picture of marlene deitrich on the wall...  Columbian music and some cool band.  Not bad.  I heard this place used to be sorta chichi...  Few people dancing.  Not packed though.  it was raining tonight, I'll come back again to see what the crowds like on weekend I guess.

I went to this 'restaurant -by-day/club-by-night' with some friends cuz we heard lady gaga was gonna perform. I'm not a huge fan of lady gaga but i heard lots of celebs come to this club, so i was hoping i might run into julia roberts or morgan freeman, but luck wasn't with me that night. we didnt make the deadline for the guestlist, so we ended up paying 15 bucks to get in, which was pretty weak. the club venue was pretty sweet. there was like 3 dancefloors, and all 3 floors were decent sized with their own bars. the music was your typical club music - TOP 40/ hip-hop/ dance music. lady gaga finally came out at 12am and performed for like 10 whole minutes. mind you i'm pretty drunk at this time, so i didn't mind at all. just a couple of downers about this place that kept it from getting the big 5 star burrito; the parking is wack i feel. valet when you can do it yourself. and the bouncers. i know the bouncers are supposed to be big and intimidating and scary, and whathaveyou, but these buys were skinny good-looking douches. i feel closely behind policemen are the bouncers of applelounge in having 'surprisingly too much power'. they were not letting anyone in, even though you could see through the fence a dancefloor with barely anyone on it. oh and drinks are a bit pricey..but i guess that's LA for ya But other than those 2 things, pretty nice club. i DO recommend it, but it helps A LOT if you know a bouncer, or promoter, or anyone who could get you in fast, it can get pretty packed.

We hit up Luckie Food Lounge last night (Sunday) for a Girls Night Out. The bar was quiet, but there were quite a few people seated at tables for late on a Sunday. Very nice wine selection - but I was suprised by the small number of "specialty drinks" for this type of scene. We had a calamari appetizer, which was excellent. I chose the Chilean Sea Bass entree, which was tasty but a bit on the salty side. Other girls ordered Luckie Tuna (sushi- yum!), Scallops with polenta (also yum) and Shrimp and Grits ( I didn't taste this one, but she cleaned her plate!). For dessert we had white chocolate bread pudding (good, but the macadamia nuts were on the large side) and Chocolate Pyramid (very rich, not my favorite). It was a bit on the pricey side. We had 2 servers, which led me to believe that 1 of them was in training, since he seemed less knowledgable. The atmosphere was fun for a Girls Night. Overall, we enjoyed the evening, but it won't neccesarily be at the top of my list for a return visit.
