What the F is up with the lights?? So early in the night I'm standing on the dance floor, grooving as usu when these white lights start blinking. And when I say white lights, I mean REALLY bright white lights. Of course they correspond w/ the build up and beats of the music. It was just insane how bright it was. It was like flash bangs going off every 10 seconds. It would literally disorient you for a few seconds. I almost walked into a wall a few times. This is the only venue that I've ever been to in which I couldn't stay on the dance floor because I was afraid I might either go blind or crash into a bunch of random people. I dug the general venue itself. As soon as you enter there is a bar on the right and circular bar in the center. My favorite spot is a little area on the far end of the circular bar that overlooks the dance floor. It has a great view of the DJ stage. And might I say they have a slew of eye candy working for them. The hot servers are dressed in what I can only describe as a circus-like lingerie get up. As the night progress, they're all dancing on top of booths and stuff. It's you're typical Hollywood club. Drinks are expensive, douche crowd, door policy, etc. I'd only come here for a specific party or if a DJ was performing that I wanted to catch. But seriously though, they really need to do something about their lights...

To be quite honest, I'm not sure I will come here again.  It's not that I had a particularly bad experience -- it was actually quite fun -- but I don't think my body can handle dancing all night on Sunday and then dealing with the world on any sort of normal terms on Monday morning. I like this place.  The Asian decor is quite fun and well-used; how many times have Japanese lanterns been used as strobe lights?  The effect is quite cool and the large dance floor means there is generally a good amount of room to dance without tripping over someone else. I was not impressed at the bar, however.  Like all clubs in the area, the drinks are insanely overpriced and the fact that the bartender seemed unable or unwilling to make a margarita on the rocks strikes me as somewhat odd and annoying. As for the men, well...  It's Chelsea and they were pretty hot in that sort of way.  More than anything, Hiro was a fun place to go dancing with a friend but it's probably not going to become a staple of my Sunday nights.  If it does, I'll really have to rethink Mondays entirely.

Come ON - this aint Studio 54 guys....!!! WTF happened to SF nightclubs? NEGATIVE 5 STARS!!!!!!! 9:00 pm:  Get super excited to go out, get in your new fancy dress, invite the peeps over for a pre party 10:00:  call a cab and get you're appropriately buzzed crew out the door 10:15:  arrive at Vessell. 12:15:  Give up on the freaking rude ass "bouncers" that think they run this city, lose your buzz, and get to a REAL bar before last call. This place is a COMPLETE joke!!! I have never felt the urge to write such a negative review. The only reason we even stayed for that long was because a friend's b-day was inside, and we wanted to show up for him. Regardless of the fact that 1.  I was on the "Guestlist" and 2.  My friends were dropping a few grand inside at their table - there was not even the slightest chance we would get in.  There is no line formation at all - so everyone swarms in around the front door like a mob scene.  The bouncers seem to forget the fact that if it wasn't for us you wouldn't be getting a paycheck.  They least they could do is communicate with the potential riot and create some sort of order. I will never return here nor recommend it to anyone.  Even the group that did get inside said there was no way it was worth all the money they spent there.
