This was my first visit to the Golden Temple after hearing it was quite good. I wasn't terribly impressed. We were impressed that on a friday night at 7 we were able to be seated right away, but then we sat at the table for about 15 minutes before anyone greeted us. The service was rushed and not attended to well at all. We waited to be greeted, waited forever for our food and our check. Waitress kept saying "sorry...I'm just so busy...." and rushed off. Food was ok, but nothing amazing. The fried scallops was the appetizer and we were starving at this point, so they were good, yet they were so piping hot we had to wait AGAIN, for them to cool down enough to touch...probably won't be back....

This afternoon I went to the new Mykonos Taverna at Clairmont and 85.  It was seriously delicious, authentically Greek food.  The owners are Greek and speak with thick Greek accents. I spent the last 10 years of my life in the Tampa Bay area, being spoiled by the food in Tarpon Springs.  For those who don't know, Tarpon has a high population of Greek immigrants and is highly punctuated by little Greek restaurants. Food that attempts to pass for Greek in Atlanta usually leaves me sorely disappointed.  Most of it is too dry, or too oily, or 'pan-Mediterranean', which is not usually Greek. Not Mykonos.  I had avgolemono, which was authentic (my aunt is Greek; she makes it the same way) and regular moussaka ($11.95), which is layers of eggplant, potato, Béchamel sauce, and spiced ground meat, usually a mixture of beef and lamb.  At Mykonos, you get soup or salad before the meal, as well as rice pilaf and Greek lemon potatoes with the entrée. Also, please note that the sweet tea ($2.25) is good: freshly brewed, and tasting like tea rather than thin molasses. For dessert we shared a galaktoboureko ($3.95), which was layers of phyllo dough, some sort of rich bread-pudding-custard-milky stuff, and cinnamon sugar. This place is a little out of the way, but totally worth the drive.  It also doubles as a nightclub from midnight to 4am.  Weird but maybe fun.  I didn't do that. If you like good Greek food, but you can't get to Greece, go to Mykonos. Love, Jodi

I went here for a wrap party so the whole place was rented; probably a good thing because the folks who just show up here would most likely be pretty freaky. Drinks are drinks, and their bar certainly has enough variety to get you what you need.  Beer on tap is somewhat limited.  I was glad that I pre-loaded before showing up.  There were only a few bartenders and they definitely couldn't keep the drinks served fast enough.  Either that or I'm a drunken POS. As for food they served: Crab cakes - Not bad, but definitely OK, not great for me.  They tried hard, I think they used Panko on the outside but their mix was slightly sweet. Cold Asian-inspired duck salad/noodles - I liked this, my wife gave me her duck. Meat/cheese trays - Good, but salty. Mini hamburgers - Best thing they had, but went quickly. Chicken satay - Not a fan, chicken too large. Egg rolls (veg only) - Not a fan, lacking meat.  Spicy mustard also had sweet in it... As others have pointed out, the only place to sit and try to eat are on some beds.  If you think this will be a fun adventure then you'll probably like it a lot.  If instead you're thinking 'WTF beds?  I don't want to eat on someone's used jimmy hat!' then you'll be like 1/3 of our crew last night and stand the whole time. They offer entertainment.  For us this took the form of a half naked guy doing a trapeze act.  If you like half naked guys then you probably would have liked this trapeze act.  My bread is butter-side up only. If you want to have your corporate event here then I'd recommend it if you have mostly younger employees who live in the city.
