"There are some things that never go down in a recession, like drugs and alcohol, so we're doing ok" is what the bartender told me when I asked about business at the KF last night. While the front bar served up $2 PBR's and $7 Jameson's the music in the back room was the main attraction. Daptone Record's CMJ showcase was amazing and the sound was great. I miss the location and character of the old Manhattan KF but alas, things change. Only complaint would be that there's a unisex bathroom with only 3 stalls for the entire venue. This could lead to anarchy in the future but for now, drink and drug on concertgoers. P.S. Fette Sau across the street is a bomb spot for pre-dancing BBQ, just don't eat too much of that spicy mustard.

Been here a couple time, and really like the decor, the bar tenders where friendly and usually have a good time here. Although they are suppose to be famous for their margaritas I didn't think they were all the great, but still a  fun place to go.

Having been a fan of Twilo and friends, it's been a while since I've "gone clubbing".  But I decided to try out this new venue, marketed as the environmentally friendly joint. You enter at the upper level, the bar's to the left with tables and couches all around, but the fact that there was no dance floor per se caught me off guard.  It's a pretty tiny space for a dance club.  Arrived around midnight to avoid lines; got in easy enough, but I was on a guest list.  Other groups were coerced into getting bottle service. Lower level is even smaller than the upper level.  Bathrooms are also downstairs.  Speaking of which, there are 2 staircases for transit. The crowd was heavily tilted to the female side earlier in the night, but it evened out later.  Beautiful people outnumbered the no-so-beautiful crowd 2-to-1, but everyone seemed like they were trying so hard to see and be seen. Music was mediocre at best.  Top 40s and euro-pop-trance-techno fare, like candy.  Mixing was mostly rudimentary, lacking sophistication and technique. Drinks, although I only had a couple of vodka shots, were terribly weak and not-cost-effective at $14 per pop. Overall, I left unsated and lukewarm.  I definitely had more fun at other venues.  This place seemed to lack depth, placing emphasis on decor and bottle service instead of music and dance.
