1015 and Ruby Skye have a near lock on the top DJs visiting SF -- and they all do. (The late AM, perhaps the best party DJ of his time, did 330 Ritch.) That alone would typically be worth 3 stars. But, be vigilant! Ruby Skye seems to play its own special version of credit card roulette. Give them your card at the beginning of the night, they'll give you someone else's at the end of the night.

Had dinner here for a friend's birthday. I have to say I'm impressed with the place. The ambiance is very chill and at 10 pm we got to listen to a live band. Props to Jazz Mafia and their Guest Shayna Steele for providing us with good music. Now to the Food. The food was reasonably priced. We all ordered our appetizer of choice. My favorite were: The Pisco ang grapefruit steamed mussels - They were a hit with me and the rest of my table. It was fresh and not fishy...."That's what she said" and very flavorful. House sauce trio w/ rosemary toast- Um. Carb-a-rificly sauce dipping awesomeness! The rosemary toast were these thin crispy toast slices.  They were served with Romesco, salsa verde, and achiote aioli, i don't remember which was which, but the green stuff was my favorite. Main Course: I had the Coffee crusted pork loin. It was juicy and the coffee added a different dimension to the pork loin's flavor. The coffee was not over powering but just enough to boost the pork loin's natural juicy flavor. I do have to be honest, It wasn't my favorite of the night. It was good, but I guess I'm more of a sauce girl than a juicy meat girl. My party however loved it! There were four of us that ordered it and most of the table took a bite to taste it. They all raved about it and said how good it was. So if you're a carnivore I highly recommend this dish. Tip for the butter and bread house appetizer. Watch out for the big ass rock salt they put on their butter. You'll be crunching up pieces of the ocean, leaving you with a mouth full of salty un-goodness if you're not careful. Dessert: The grapefruit sorbet was refreshing. At first it hits you with that tangy grapefruit juice flavor then eases you out with that grapefruit sweetness. The brownie with caramel ice cream was a "Helmet Dish" (You have to wear a helmet so you won't make a mess when it blows your mind!) The texture was like ganache and it was paired up with caramel ice cream that was not too sweet. Might as well ring the church bells because this is a perfect marriage.

This is a review for the ROCKIT gay party on Fridays... Guys, this is apparently the place to be since the gay mafia has declared it so since March of 09 (poor mister black has suffered). It's pretty much your Chelsea-types, models, actors, fashionistas, scenesters, all looking fabulous. But you have a good amount of sweaty dancing in the back so it's a good mix. The DJ plays all the hits, no obscure house you won't recognize, thank god. Warning: There is "crowd control" at the door. Some glammed up queen was telling guys they couln't get in because they weren't wearing the right shoes and shorts! Oh, man - when I see that it makes me mad because eventually when the next best thing comes along they will regret turning people away. Notice how HIRO Sundays never turns people away at their door regardless of how they look, and they're still going strong for what is it now? 6 years? But other than that, there are a lot of hotties waiting to get down and dirty. Check it out.
