We came to Temple last night for my friend's birthday and it was a lot of fun! Normally there is a $20 cover, but we put ourselves on a guest list that ensured free entrance before 11pm. I don't usually like getting to the club that early, but it worked out fine. The space is really big and I like that fact a lot. It surely has a "temple" feeling. It strongly reminded me of that old childhood game show Legends of the Hidden Temple. The dance floor downstairs was huge. It was great because we didn't have to be rubbing up on strangers while dancing. The DJ in the "hip-hop" room was sub par, but the DJ in the "house" room was good. The drinks are where this place loses me. They're mighty pricey and in quite possibly the smallest cups I've seen at a bar. My Stoli/soda was $9. So that's like $9 for a few sips of vodka/soda. No thanks. Besides the drinks, this place is really fun. I would definitely return, only after drinking plenty before arriving, though.

The first time I came to Slide we waltzed right in without waiting and the place stayed fairly empty all night. The second, more recent time we managed to sneak in just before the line got totally out of hand. We were with a pretty large group and the guys were all (justifiably) worried about getting in. I'd definitely recommend either coming early or making sure that are an even number of guys and girls in your group if you don't want to be stuck outside waiting for the bouncer to grow a heart. Once inside you're rewarded with the opportunity to go down the slide, although only if you are wearing pants (no showing of the Britney bits!) Since I was wearing a dress I was relegated to standing at the bottom and taking pictures as my friends came down. It was all vaguely reminiscent of being at a water park -- someone at the top to space everyone out, another person at the bottom to make sure you get the hell out of the way before the next guy comes flying at you. The club itself was super packed, which made dancing and acquiring drinks somewhat difficult, but at least the bartenders poured pretty stiff cocktails. The music was my least favorite part -- all crappy Top 40 remixes. I honestly don't remember enough about the night to comment on the rest of Slide, but at least when I went back two days later to collect my debit card after leaving it at the bar, the girl who found it for me was friendly ;)

I've only came here to hang out NOT stay at the hotel. This place is classic Hollywood, but has been taken care of to be a updated place to chill. You can lounge by the outdoor pool with a drink in your hand. You can lounge inside in the sitting area. You can even lounge in the lounge.
