This place has a little bit of everything.  I did a little research before a weekend in Philadelphia and decided on this place for its drink menu and small plate menu.  One thing, no reservations allowed and this place does fill up...fast. We went on a Friday night and when we got there around 7pm we had to wait for about 20 minutes, grabbed a drink at the bar (30 bucks for 3 cocktails!!).  The inside of this place is great.  A total retro throwback and the cocktails went right along with it. Once seated, the staff was very helpful and friendly.  They suggested we pick 4 or so plates for 3 people, they would figure out which should come first and bring another out when we were finished.  Our server definitely encouraged a slow relaxed meal. We started with the shoestring fries and cheese steak egg roll.  The fries were good came with a chinese style hot mustard.  The only thing I did not enjoy was how thin they were, kinda hard to eat and not make a mess.  The cheese steak egg roll was really good.  It is just as you would imagine it. It even came with a hot cherry pepper and siracha ketchup.  Our other two plates were also very good, an open faced shrimp quesadilla and thai chicken lettuce wraps (our server even asked if we wanted more lettuce).  Dessert is definitely not there strong suit.  We chose two ice creams, one caramel popcorn and I cant remember the other one.  The only thing I remembered is that I didn't taste caramel popcorn in the first one. Overall, the Continental is fun place to go.  The food is very good, I like the small plate style restaurant and service is also very good.  The drink menu goes on for ages, ranging from classic cocktails to new different ones.

I came here on a Thursday night, so I probably didn't see it at its best, but still. It was an utter disappointment. Although it's a cool setup, with two different floors playing hip-hop and house music, the scene here is way too aggressive, to say the least. The majority of men are drunk European tourists attempting to get lucky by oh-so-charmingly groping everything they come into contact with, and the majority of women seem to be loving every second of it. That's all you need to know. Come here sloppy drunk and looking to hook up, or not at all.

Brunos. Review Soundtrack: Michael Jackson's Rock With You. Please click link and continue reading http://www.youtube.com... I have always been iffy on the Mission. This is because it is a little hood, and because I am the anti-hipster. Basically, my entire life is diametrically opposed to all things in the hipster ideal. That being said, the mission is quickly growing on me. The more I explore this area, the more fun quirky little places I find. I have been spending a lot of time in bars as of late. My little brother, Brian Robert F, has moved the bay ! Yippeee ! It is like importing my number one wingman. BRF is also single and looking. Thus, it is time to suit up and hit the bars. I received a text from Hailey P. about hitting a little hot spot in the Mission called Brunos. I was skeptical at first, as I was not overly impressed with Mission District night clubs (Refer to my review of Medjool). This is an area for funk and quirk, not swank. I was pleasantly surprised by Brunos. The space is not overly big, but has everything you could want. Two dance floors, four bars, lots of tables, and a semi Private VIP. The staff is considerate and friendly, which I find to be rare in nightclubs. The bouncers were not assholes and the assistant manager was a complete doll. But what about the talent you ask ? The talent was awesome. Ridiculous actually. Especially when considering the fact that the door is not ratio controlled and it is IN THE MISSION. This was a completely glorious situation. I was drunk and hyper, best wingman in tow, and more pretty girls then I could keep track of. This is my happy place. On top of that, the girls at this bar were *gasp* friendly. I did not see any adversely bitchy behavior the entire night. I found this shocking for the level of talent in this bar. I don't know what it was about this night, but I was an unstoppable force of nature. I do not know if it was the particular breed of talent or my luxurious velvet blazer, but I have never had so many girls buy me drinks on a night out. I am also not talking about cougars getting me wasted with their alimony checks. I am talking about normal attractive females in their twenties. Sadly BRF has been no use in answering this question as he was more drunk then I was. Also, the hottest girl in the bar eye screwed BRF so hard that I even felt dirty. So, it is not all kittens and floozies. This bar has some downsides, although minor. 1. Ten dollar cover kicks in at ten. 2. They serve drinks in cheap plastic cups at the back bar. They crack easily. (The bartenders will hook you up if this happens) 3. They have a looping staircase that is a major obstacle when drunk. I defiantly took a face plant down this bad boy. My knee was still swollen three days later. Haiku ! Yes. This will do son. BRF and KCF. It is do'oclock Talent Level ?  I will return to this bar another time to make sure that this was not a fluke of the universe or a strange Einstein wormhole of talent. But, I am currently placing this joint in my top 5 bay area talent bars.
