If you enjoy a "judgement free" casual club, avoid this mockery of what some would regard as a dance hotspot. What appears to be an innocuous adjunct to Jillians is actually a poorly managed cadaver of a that attracts scantily clad barflies, yeahbros, and those inclined towards gaudy hedonism. I was roundly dismissed at the door for wearing soft toe boots in the WINTER. Avoid at all costs, because this place literally charges you to get in so that you can become emotionally bankrupt and disappointed with mankind.

As a lover of Asian fusion cuisine, I was excited to find out that Pod was part of University City Dining Days. My first impression upon entering the restaurant is that Pod disappointedly sported a cheap modern look. I am all for modern decor, but cheap plastic tables and chairs? It was also loud. Like, REALLY loud. I had to lean across the table and scream in order to carry a conversation with my boyfriend. The food was decent. The beef and lettuce wraps were interesting, and the szechuan lamb chops were very well cooked. Although the food was okay, the restaurant failed at creating a nice dinner ambiance. Pod feels more like a university cafeteria - loud and full of drunken students. I left the restaurant with a pounding headache - and NOT from drinks.

I am lucky enough to live walking distance to this fabulous spot-- It's perfect for when I just want to hang out with my friends and enjoy a great meal and have a nice glass of wine. It's "going out" without going ALL out. I'm obsessed with the mussels, some of the best I've had. The tuna appetizer is delish, love the salmon entree, and the duck pizza! I prefer to sit downstairs, and if there aren't any tables open, we just hang out at the bar and enjoy our meal. They have an excellent wine list and my server/bartender hasn't steered me wrong yet. Still have more to try as I eat my way through their menu!
