Great place to shake your tail feather. The Downside is that the crowd is theme based, so if you're just trying to find a decent place on any given day of the week, it's hard to guesstimate "who" or "what crowd" will be there. They have Asian night, Hip Hop night and I dunno whatever else... it's just hit or miss sometimes depending on who you're trying to be around. Anytime I've gone it's been a great time either way. Drinks are solid but pricey, and I enjoy the large dance floor. Beware of the Lines that can wrap around like it's 6 flags, and the covers if you're arriving late.

While not technically a multi-use space, Sugar transforms seamlessly from a cafe by day into a lounge/club by night. For that I am impressed, though there have been times when I've wished that the switchover would happen a little later in the evening (according to their website, it happens at 6p on the dot). I've yet to stay for the nightlife, but I do like coming here on a weekend afternoon for coffee and to get a little work done. It's almost always busy, but never too loud to study/ready/work, and I like having the option of either a secluded table in back (for when I need to bear down and focus), a larger table on the side (for when I have a friend along), or a comfortable couch by the fireplace up front (for when I'm doing a little pleasure reading and welcome a little distraction now and again). I've yet to eat here (nothing on the menu really appeals, which keeps this place from a 5* rating), but can vouch for the coffee as being good and strong.

oh. my. god. i would have given bowlmor 4 stars, but there were a couple of things that bothered me and took it down a star. i organized a team bowling event 2 weekends ago here. it was pretty easy, got a contract, the events coordinator was helpful and accomodating, but $803 to reserve 3 lanes for 2 1/2 hours, not including the price of shoes?? i was shocked, but i didn't mind too much when i caught a glimpse at the really cute bowling shoes! i understand i live in the big city and things are just more expensive here, but i was unprepared for how much bowling would cost. secondly, the waitress we had was really quite inept and kind of had a bad attitude. i ordered a beer from her, waited for about 20 minutes, and when it never came, i followed her to the bar where i told her i was just going to order it there. she promptly told me she would bring it over to me, so i wandered back to my game. i waited and waited and it never came! i ended up just going back to the bar to order it myself. all in all, the experience was fun and everyone had a good time. i did get a 10% off card from the event coordinator in the mail today, so mayyyyyybeeee i might go again. maybe i should start saving up now!
