Atmosphere is very chic and modern minimalist. Price is very Le Bec Fin. Ambient noise is loud, but does not effect tableside conversation, which is nice since no one appreciates eavesdroppers. Food is creative, exotic, exciting, full of life, full of flavor. Despite full stomachs, our appetites were insatiable...just could not wait to see what the next dish would look, smell, and taste like. I have been here twice, both times exceeding my expectations. Wait-staff was above and beyond accommodating and knowledgeable about the cuisine and drinks, especially when it comes to sake and beer pairing. Here's a rundown of our culinary adventure: We kicked things off with some drinks. I started with Morimoto Martini (Junmai sake, Smirnoff Vodka, and Japanese cucumber slices). Tasted of honeydew melon. Crisp, fresh, delicate, and enjoyable. Others had the Pomegranate Shiso-Jito, and the Morimoto Imperial Pilsner. I tried the Morimoto beer, produced by Rogue brewery, and it was very good. Pleasantly bitter, fruity, heavy alcohol. Sushi: Yellowtail-Scallion roll: Super-fresh fish, very tasty. Sushi rice was light and sticky. Not heavy. Soft Shell Crab/Spider Roll: Small crabs lightly tempura'd. Crab was meaty and flavorful, a bit sweet. Very nice. On to the Raw Bar: Kumamoto Oysters: I have not had a huge array of oysters in my time, but these were fantastic. Small oysters, packed with flavor. Each oyster was splashed with either Japanese salsa, Ceviche, or Thai fish sauce. Not overpowering and certainly a nice complimentary addition. We threw in an order of the Soba Carbonara noodles with edamame, bacon, and scallions. An odd choice since this was a heavy creamy pasta dish, but very tasty nonetheless. I say it is a decent interpretation of the Italian carbonara, but let us leave that to the Italians. Out came the hot dishes: We threw edamame in the mix just for the fun of eating the little salty bean pods. Then out came the rock shrimp. Little pillows of batter fried shrimp dressed in a mildly spicy  Kochujan Aioli. Great flavor. We kept this on the table and picked at it throughout the meal. Next up: Spicy King Crab that is broiled on the half shell. Dressed in a sweet, spicy, and creamy sauce. Huge, meaty, and flavorful crab legs. Literally hunks of meat in each leg. Sauce was a perfect pairing. At this point we are bursting at the seams, but out come the entrees: First off, we ordered the IshiYaki 'Buri Bop' rice dish just for the table. If you are not familiar with this dish, it is a tableside preparation. Waiter comes out with a super hot stone bowl filled with rice, cooks either Kobe beef or yellow-fin tuna on the sides of the hot stone, and mixes an egg into the bowl, which cooks off the residual heat. A fantastic sensory experience. We tried both the beef and fish on separate occasions. Both excellent. Also had the Black Miso Cod which blew my mind. I personally never tasted Miso cod, I have only heard of how good it is at Nobu. Well I finally realized what all the hype is about. This fish tastes incredible, Buttery, velvety, firm, and sweet. You have to remind yourself you are eating fish. I was definitely impressed. We also tried the Duck, Duck, Duck. This was Madras roasted duck breast with a duck confit risotto, and duck egg. Very flavorful. However, I do not recall any crispy duck skin, which I love. Probably why I was not so into this dish. Duck risotto was great though. The Dry Aged NY Strip steak with Wasabi dipping sauce was outstanding. A great cut of beef, cooked perfectly to medium-rare. Very flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed the Seafood Toban Yaki with King Crab, Shrimp, Scallops, New Zealand Mussels, Oyster mushrooms, and citrus butter. The broth in this dish was outstanding. Buttery, with a hint of citrus and sake. This combined with the meaty chunks of fish was dynamite. Also tried the Morimoto Surf and Turf with Grilled Kobe Sirloin and raw Hamachi ribbons. This dish, while very good in the general sense, was a bit bland compared to everything else. I probably would not go this route next time. Other entrée's brought more wow, for sure. I have no clue how we made room for dessert, but like they say; there is always room for dessert. We tried the Chocolate Pot de Crème. Rich, chocolate-y, and very good. Morimoto brownies, these were just Ok. Coffee was good. I would say dessert was the weakest for us. I would certainly try something different next time around This is an excellent restaurant and a memorable dining experience. You will not be disappointed. It is very expensive though, so keep that in mind as you salivate over the menu and yearn to try everything. Go with a bunch of people so that you can broaden the array of items ordered. Go hungry, leave satisfied. Money well spent. -Joe http://www.dontburnthe...

Really too old for dance clubs but was curious.  Tenjune had a line down the block and this one had no line and no cover, so we ventured in.  The guys at the door were super nice but. . .then we had to have our bags searched. . .  and then the woman inside told us to stand with our arms and legs apart so she could pat us down or go over us with a metal detecting baton or something.  Thats when I looked at my friend and said "this may be too much for me".    They were very gracious about us leaving.   Was there recently a shootout here or something?

It's always so darn hard to review clubs because I usually don't remember much about the place or what happened! We were lucky and we beat the line: plus It was crowded which is actually a good thing because otherwise you feel like you're in loserville: plus Drinks got me drunk: plus Going down the slide: plus Super fun co-workers who snap pics of you as coming down the slide which you then force her to remove from Facebook: plus Sucky music: negative Almost getting your ass kicked for grabbing a straight guys ass: negative It's a challenge to find a good night out dancing in this town.  Slide is a solid B when it comes to the SF scene.  Play some good dance music and I'd be all over Slide.  Stick with the top 40 crapola and you might not see me back anytime soon.  I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather pay $20 and go to Ruby Skye. Wow, I really said it.
