by Olen Mcmenimen on So a few friends hit me up Friday evening saying that they wanted to check out this bar in SF. Most of them live outside the city and was planned on getting smashed. They needed a DD. I love being DD cause you get to see drunk people while sober. Most people would say that being DD sucks but I love it. Watching my friends make complete fools of themselves and watching them let loose reminds me how many times we put up fronts. I can say a good time was had by all. So why the three stars? Well, let me say that Sloane is true to the quote on their website. "Sloane removes the pretense and stuffiness, and offers you a subtle reminder of why you started going out to bars and clubs in the first place." This place was completely chill. I don't know why I even dressed up and I was dressed nicer for this place than I usually do for work. It was a pretty mixed group of people which is usually pretty cool instead of your typical ethinic dominanted places. The music was pretty good although there were a few awkward transitions. Drinks were pretty good according to the people I was with. My coke was okay, but I felt like 2 dollars was cheaper than most places. Here was the downer of the night. There was no place to hang out. It is rather small and thankfully it was not packed. Although it was pretty much Sausagefest all around, I didn't care cause I had fun with my friends. Secondly, there was a asian movie on the big screen and it showed a movie call Lust' Caution by Ang Lee. Caution alright! It was basically Asian porno on a big screen. I don't think I have ever seen that. I guess cause I was DD and wasn't drinking I ended up watching the movie cause I like to know how movies end. But man that was weird and the movie was pretty graphic. Its a okay place. I wouldn't come back here but you shouldn't listen to me since I don't usually go to bars, lounges or clubs.
by Courtney R. on I couldn't pass up the chance to write a review on the historical Clermont Lounge. It has a history that speaks for itself really. Once you walk into the doors of this establishment you're pretty much changed forever. You'll learn those really tough lessons in life like don't order the mixed drinks since...well having an open cup means as the bartender prepares your drink something might just, well, um drip into it. Also you'll learn how to pee in front of an audience since all it takes is a slight wind draft to blow the curtain enough for all the world to watch your mad squatting skills. Ah, but I love this place. How could I not give it 4 stars or really more. I have never walked in and not had an unforgettable evening. I've danced for hours. I've talked to people from all over the world that just had to come to the Clermont Lounge when visiting. I put this place on the top 3 must see locations when visiting Atlanta.
by Jared Lasage on Dim and busy with people just hanging out and a unisex bathroom with a toilet AND a urinal. I didn't check out the other room but you can hear people singing. Drinks at Martuni's were awesome.. It wasn't too much of anything. Sometimes you get drinks that have alcohol overpowering the taste or not enough and it was a perfect blend here. Nikki had a watermelon martini and it was garnished with a slice of watermelon. It's a lot of effort to personalize drinks like that.. So, i'm greatly impressed. I just don't think Nick liked the server invading his personal space by rubbing his back while he was taking his order..
