I've only been once, but I can tell you: Biscuits and Blues is more about the music than the food. You'll hear a whole bunch of talented, dedicated blues musicians swinging through this joint. As for the food, it's actually pretty darn good. I had solidly tasty fried chicken with red mashed potatoes and slaw. Inexplicably there was no biscuit included on my plate, but what are you gonna do? Anyway the band we heard was pretty cool and people were into the music but no one acted like an asshole. There was even a crazy hippie chick who got up and danced for a while. Always a good thing. Near Union Square, so good for tourists. I had fun.

A little underwhelmed.  Maybe my expectations were too high -- combination of the off-the-charts reviews here on rateclubs, and then reading on Boulevard3's site that it was started by one of the founders of Sky Bar, of which I am definitely a fan. It's not Sky Bar, though.  What it is:  a truly beautiful, gorgeous, unique nightclub experience.  You walk in and are greeted with an outdoor... well... BOULEVARD.  Way cool and different.  At first it looks like that's it, just this small, ultra trendy walkway... then you get to the back and see there's a hallway leading to another room.  And THAT room leads into another room too -- a huge nightclub / dance floor.  Then there's a back passage behind the big room and the smaller intermediate area that contains unisex bathrooms and a few balconies and entrances back to one room or the other.  There's also an upstairs, though it was closed on Friday night. I give it a three star because the crowd was pretty much just the usual suspects.  Nothing different than what you'd see in any nightclub here or anywhere else in the US.  For all the fanfare, it's just another club, at least as far as the patrons go.  Couples; groups of couples; groups of girls dancing on the dance floor; groups of guys staring at the corset-wearing girls strutting their stuff stripper-esque-ly on the faux burlesque stage behind the club-room's bar.  Just normal, average people here, dressed fairly well, hanging in their groups and chilling. So, final verdict:  the venue is aesthetically spectacular; the crowd is ok but leaves something to be desired.  Boulevard3 is a solid choice if your mission is to go out with a group of friends to chill in a beautiful venue or hit the dance floor, and aren't terribly concerned with meeting too many new / interesting people.

I love this place!! I can see why it's not for everyone, but when I do go out I make an effort to go here. Wednesdays are great before 11:30, because ladies drink for free. It's a great atmosphere; super fun, trendy, yet laid back too. There is a seperate bar area where you can just sit and relax, an area to dance, and a wicked downstairs VIP area. I celebrated my 21st birthday here and had such a great time, I got kicked out (oops... but seriously, not my fault. Blame my friends for "over serving" me despite my repeated protests). Even though I suck at dancing, everytime I enter Door 44 there's just something about the place that makes me want to dance! The decor is gorgeous, it's kind of an elegant gothic style. I found most people here to be approachable and cool. My only complaint has to do with a lot of the men that frequent this place. Some of the guys try way too hard to fit the "style" of Door 44... most guys I see here wear either an Affliction, Ed Hardy, or Aqua VI shirt which is just a little douchey when EVERYONE is wearing the same brands... Then again, maybe some of them really wear that stuff on a daily basis and were pissed to find a hundred clones of themselves at Door 44. However, I suspect many of them bought that one shirt to wear to clubs (specifically Door 44) to appear "trendy and edgy."
