by Alicia Hause on Meh is about right. I don't completely hate Sherlock's (hence the second star), but I really don't get why anyone would go there when they have other available options. I've been to plenty of pubs in my life, and think I can fairly say that Sherlock's isn't all that great in comparison. Their food is average at best, and while it seems to be a reasonably social place, I've noticed that the only people ("guys") I've met there have been obvious douchebags. Do yourself a favor - unless you live super North and have no other viable options, don't bother with this place.
by Cleotilde Deem on I honestly hardly ever have a bad time at Hiro, granted I don't enjoy the nightlife scene as much as I used to but we used to gather up the girls and put on our party dresses and dancing shoes and just have a good time. Asian themed setting. Dark lighting, soft glow from the lanterns overhead. It feels like what Kyoto would look like during the period following WWII. At least in my interpretation of it anyway. Dancefloor is smallish, especially on nights when they do a lot of bottle service. They will pack tables right on the dance floor and you'll be forced to dance in the tight gaps between the tables. Upstairs is more of my thing. Wide open space, lean over the balcony and just watch the scene unfold below us while my friends are throwing back shots at the bar.
by Anton A. on I Love Monday Nights there, cheap drinks (always a drink special), coolest bartenders (Guipe, Moe, & the Gang), good music/DJs (always a diverse set of music, especially on Mondays.) and great History (Miles Davis used to rock the joint when it was called the blackhawk). Best spot in the TL.
