by Emmett Orlosky on Popscene takes over this place on Thursday nights and Popscene is the place that stole my club virginity. Now that you know, prepare for a biased review. I LOVE THIS PLACE! The venue is small, but they've really done a lot with the place over the years. They knocked down a wall, or maybe it was just part of it, which really opened it up. The bartenders and bouncers can be snooty, BUT as is the case with ALL clubs, you have to play nice first before they play nice back. I've grown to love everyone here. On bustling nights, the dance floor resembles an orgy. You may need to prepare for this by wearing some scandalous clothes because it can get quite steamy. What's great about the size of this place is fresh air is two heel clicks away, and believe me the air never tasted or smelled crisper. Even though this venue is on the smaller side, they are still considerate enough to provide two bars for us to enjoy; so let's enjoy them! The two bars make for less of a wait between thirsty individuals and juicy beverages. The interior appearance has really improved over the years and it has a sweet basement feel to it. They pull through some phenomenal acts. Imagine being 10 feet away from Muse, The Killers, and other more indie bands. Beautiful, isn't it? Another important must-know: use the bathroom before midnight because it is beyond trashed afterwards.
