by Tasha S. on So once again my friends and I are down in the MD hopping around on a Saturday night. Nothing seemed to fit our feel and we were starting to get a lil frustrated. On our way to check out how Park was after Gansevoort and Maritime, we passed 1 Oak. We walked up to the door, no line was there, but it took a minute for the guy to notice us. We looked at eachother confused as if to say "What, we're not cute enough?" With in a second after looking at my friends up and down myself he says to the bouncer "They're good" and he lifted the velvet rope. 'Thats what I thought". (No I didn't really say that) Inside is nice. Dim lit, love the murals on the wall. Kind of Where the Wild things are esq. Everyone in there was beautiful. No lie when they say there are more models than regular people. Speaking of models, while at the bar with my girlfriend ordering a round of lemon drop shots, i completely zoned out while she was trying to get my attention. Who did i see? I fine mofo named Tyson Bedford *lick of lips* "Tash! snap out of it!" Now we've met before but tonight he came with a "date". Hmmph. (ok I was jealous) But you get the idea of the crowd now. The DJ was great. Definetly a spot to go to if you want to be seen and genuinely have a good time. Everyone is dancing and the staff was nice. I heard Tuesday nights are great.
by Hermina Vicknair on The music is pretty good at vanguard. Been there quite a few times and i've always gone home happily buzzed/drunk. The bartenders/bouncers are chill.. and the outside bar/smoking area is a nice size. You dont have to worry about smoking in a little alley like place, or in a room where your literally burning holes in pplz pants..lol. I'd def. recommend checking out vanguard- esp if u know a promoters. short lines-freee and certain nights they have open bar till 1030? so... why not ?
