$10 cover (Thu night). $25 minimum at the bar. And if you don't leave a tip (for whatever reason), they will charge your card, as if you had left a 10% tip anyway. Beware. Edit: If the bartender charges you for a tip you did not leave (for whatever reason), call the bar back the next day, and management will fix it. So, check your card the next day and make the call if it's not what you remember.

No dilemma here. On a Wednesday night, I walked in on a $3 "you-call-it," except that the calls were not limited to the rotgut in the well. It's true; I got Dewar's on the rocks and a Sambuca and soda for a whopping $6 total. Usually, in New York, you get a flat pint of Coors Light for this price. The special prices were still in effect after 10 p.m.... The crowd was diverse, young, and cool, but my friend and I were happy to just sit at the bar, converse with one another (for we could actually hear each other speak), and enjoy the attentive service of a handsome, smiling bartender who kept our ice waters AND drinks coming, and laughed it off when he found the crumby bag of Combos that I'd polished off. They serve food here, too, but luckily, I walked away from the situation before caving in to homemade mac 'n cheese and a buffalo burger with bleu cheese. Next time, for sure.

The food rules, the beers rule (awesome pitcher prices, too), very cool decor. It seems like the have a good Quizzo, too, with Irish John I think his name is. Irish Somebody. Pretty good prices, too! I know the Old City Sideshow performs there once in a while, which is awesome, but my loyalties lie with the Squidling Bros. Sideshow Circus.
