by Gretchen O. on We had some time to kill before the show and decided to have a cocktail. We had planned to hit the Sports Bar, but that changed as soon as my date saw the sign for Rosa. Suddenly he had margarita on his mind. The minute we walked in this place the rateclubs reviews came to my mind. Most going on about how ridiculously expensive it was and well that always makes me uncomfortable when on a date. We were greeted immediately upon seating ourselves at the bar and the bartender was very thorough in explaining the different menus and pointing out the guacamole station, where it was made to order. The guacamole looked delicious and we agreed that we must have some. To accompany the guacamole, I ordered the frozen pomegranate margarita and my date asked for the bartenders personal favorite margarita. A bold move in my mind, as I would be afraid that the margarita would end up being one pricey drink. Turns out that at $12, his margarita was not anymore expensive than mine. At first I was surprised about the price of mine, since it was just a frozen fruit margarita served in a bucket glass and came out of a machine, but I do have to say it had a bit of a kick to it. What was lacking kick was the guacamole. Do not get me wrong, it was delicious, but I thought it was funny that we were asked if we wanted mild, medium or spicy. We requested spicy and to my delight, it just had the right amount of heat, but by no means would I have described it as spicy. Overall a nice way to kill some time before the show. We had excellent service, strong tasty margaritas and damn good guacamole. The total bill before tip was $36. I was not surprised by the bill and will let you be the judge of whether that is considered expensive for two margaritas and some guacamole.
by Adah Nilan on With a limo full of ladies, I headed to LA's newest hot spot and found not only a number of hotties waiting in line, but an absolutely gorgeous doorman who was kind enough to let all of my girlfriends in, without the wait.. ( now that's what I like ) LAX was packed had dark dim lighting and the wait at the bar was at least 3 deep; a sign of a hopping night club. The outdoor patio area was small but intimate.. if you want to get close with a complete stranger, come down to the patio and you'll be possibly too close for comfort.. I think his .. touched me. :) Great time, dancing on top of the booths, lots of beautiful people (hello, we're in LA) and a number of celebrity sitings... The Doctors/actors from NIP/TUCK were quite sloppy.. what a scene... biggest minus is the lack of bathroom accomodations, they had a line that was at least 20 minutes.. who plans that far ahead? not me..
