by Benny Muehleisen on Had a fun night here a couple weekends ago. The bar was a little understaffed so the wait for drinks was long, and the women's restroom took forever to get into. But, the music was good, and the lighting was cool. Good air conditioning, so I didn't overheat for once! The crowd was definitely having a good time. Don't dress up, it's not that type of club. Not at all pretentious, just a good, underground-feeling club with a fun vibe. I wish smoking weren't allowed :(
by Tyrell Toller on So as Megan L said, Vessel rocks it! I'm here with her and Andrew T and a few other rateclubers for http://Biteclub.com's first SF event. I met the CEO who invited us into the VIP area...he was a totally cool guy and I gave him tips for the up and coming site. Ice sculptures, hott waitresses/bartenders/ patrons, free booze....all culminated in one good night and one horrible hangover the next day. About the club: The club name "Vessel" just screams of the famous San Francisco "I'm sooooooo scene. Look how scene I am." pretension, but the place is actually not so snooty. The first time I was here, I showed up completely plastered and in a t-shirt and jeans w/ no problems getting in. Leaving, there was a huge line...and I looked even more tore (that didn't stop me from hitting on some cuties on their way in though). The second best part about the place is the cool co-ed bathrooms....sooo many stalls makes everything go smoothly. It also allows for some "in line" chit chat. Vessel is 2/2 with me so far and it definitely lives up to its name; my blood vessels were definitely engorged w/ EtOH both nights I was here.
