Let me be like the 134th person to say that Woodfire Grill absolutely lives up to the hype. We went here last night for Maura C.'s birthday. Being a special occasion, we went all out and did the 7 course chef's tasting menu with wine pairings (after starting out with some cocktails, of course). With that many courses (and that much wine) I can't tell you everything we ate last night, but I can tell you everything we ate was wonderful. Tempura shrimp, mushrooms on a cake of grits, pork loin and belly, and lamb were fabulous. The wine pairings were especially fun and even the palate cleansers came with their own wine pairing. Service was professional and very knowledgable. This was definitely one of my top fine dining experiences.

I have to give this place 4 stars, not necessarily for the food, but because it is such a BIZARRE place. It's a Disney world ride combined with 70s fondue, and oh yeah throw in live alligators and live jazz! The restaurant is a an old sailing ship and dock...pirate theme through out The service was good, the waiters were knowledgeable and helpful. This place is unlike anywhere else in North America, and worth a trip once just for the experience.

Why is the entrance in a parking lot on the other side of Hollywood. I'm sure I'm not the first to be confused with the situation, but the security at the restaurant side off of Hollywood were helpful in leading us in the right direction. I'm told that this is one of the more new hot spots in Hollywood, but I don't really see it staying that way for long. Although there are different levels to the "club" I was stuck on the first floor by my table on the dance floor. I've been in the nightlife industry for many years so I'm used to outrageous prices, but $425 for a bottle of grey goose is absolutely ridiculous. That's more expensive than high end clubs in Manhattan and well if I got at least a little sparkler with some hot girls dancing behind the bottle than I probably wouldn't complain, but I received neither and left feeling I had been a bit ripped off.
