I went out with my friend to check out potential places for my birthday. At first we were having such a great time at Viva, joking around with the waiters, getting free drinks and whatnot. We even got to ride the bull which was much more fun than we had expected. But after such a high in the evening, we went to go pay for our drinks, and when we got the bill they had charged us for all the "free" drinks they had given us. What?? So rude, and on top of all that they made it seem like "at least you got to ride the bull." Whatever, I just really did not appreciate the dishonesty and trickery from them. There goes my plans to party over there again..

I went to My House on a Friday night back in June.....I heard all about the long lines (on the grass of course) and the bouncers telling people when they arrive they may not get in.....With that known my husband and I gave ourselves a 20 minute time limit to wait. We showed up right at 10pm and there were already about 15 people outside waiting...the bouncers told us if we weren't on the list we could wait but still may not get In, We watched groups of girls kiss the bouncers and walk right in (lucky girls...not mad, that's the way it is) There was one kinda creepy older guy with a cane who walked up and right in the club, he obviously knew the people working there and he would point people out and the bouncers would let them in...he must have been the owner or something.... So we waited about 20-30 minutes and decided to go to another party at the Roosevelt until our friends we were meeting called and told us where they were going.... Around Midnight our friends called and they were at Myhouse with a table....we walked back to Myhouse, The bouncer looked at us and again said "you're not getting in tonight" We told him our friends finally showed up and were inside with a table....we went to the other grass area for Tables which was empty (the main lawn still had a huge crowd) and we got right in Inside it was crowded typical bardic may have been nice but as it was so crowded you really couldn't tell....VIP and main area have t same bathroom and it was crowded....we drank our Vodka in the VIP and danced at the table (a few C-listers had tables too such as Mel-B from spice girls) But no one famous I noticed....but then again I had a bottle of wine and a shot of vodka....at 1:30 our table had to finish up as it was last call and we all did shots..we exited out the back door and enjoyed out fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookies before walking down the stairs into the paparazzi's flashing bulbs.... Summary you ask- 1. Get on a list 2. Get a table 3. If you don't have either look really hot and know the bouncer 4. If none of this applies and you don't want to bribe the bouncer, show up cross your fingers and have a back up plan :)

I'm in AZ for the Labor Day weekend and visited Blue Martini with some girlfriends last night. I carpooled with a girlfriend that lives in Gilbert and since I was staying in Chandler, it was about a 30-40 min trip to the Blue Martini. Damn, seems like everytime I come to AZ, it seems to have gotten bigger and bigger. Ok, when we exited 56th St from the 101N, made a right, and then a left on Deer Valley, I completely drove past the area the club/bar was situated in as it's nestled within an apartment complex and other businesses. It looked completely dead, but when we went further into the area, things started to look more lively. There were alot of posers standing about outside, but I guess being that AZ is close to L.A. (CA), it's understandable, haha. We got there around 10:15pm and the Blue Martini was already packed. There was a live band playing some top 40 hits, and they weren't bad. However, I wanted to dance and although the live band was nice to listen to, I wanted a DJ to play club hits. The band wrapped up around 11pm and here comes the DJ! Drinks here were relatively cheap, when compared with L.A. prices. The Kami Kaze drinks/shots and red bull/vodka drinks we got were $10 each. They don't skimp on the alcohol on the drinks at this place, which I appreciate. The crowd was mostly Caucasian (this is Scottsdale, after all), but there was a sprinkling of minorities, including me and my girls. As for the age group, it comprised mainly of 30+ men and women...which I appreciate, since I like a mature crowd. However, there were a few there that were well into their 50s. Kinda weird seeing people in their 50s looking toned, tanned, with the men in tight t-shirts. Reminds me a bit of Miami and L.A., which isn't exactly a good thing. Anyhow, Blue Martini is a great spot to chill with your friends...and for hookups if you're into a mature crowd. Not too much room for dancing, but hey, we make room wherever we go. ;-P
