by Lula Frosto on The club is a huge box with glass windows. The place is sheek and classy. More of a lounge than a night club. The place is dark and vip is spread across the whole club-- downstairs, against the walls, upstairs, on the side near the bathrooms... everywhere! Main bar is where I like to be, but there is also a private bar upstairs. The DJ booth is upstairs secluded from everyone in his own little box. The dance floor is a bit small in front of the main bar and in between 2 vip tables. There's a bunch of space throughout the club for you to talk, and do whatever else you like. Location is a little tricky for your newcomers to Buckhead. I advise you all to pay attention to the road-- don't drive into a one way.
by Sally f. on i love this place. great food!!!! the greenbeans - wow. the servers are friendly. my boyfriends uncle brings his two little kids here all the time and they always have coloring books and crayons. it really is nice to be able to bring up kids in the city and have them experince real south philly. i read someone else said theres no typical croud here - i realize now thats true and how nice that is.
by Kyong Teyler on I'm a club junkie and I'll give it to you straight about this place. None of this "i was messed up so everything was awesome" review that a lot of people give. Vanguard SUCKS as a super club. It's not the venue. It really isn't. The venue is pretty kick butt. The sound system is amazing. It stops there. Friday night i went for the hell of it back when vision shock was promoting. WOW. The place was filled with hot under age asian girls. Yeah.. underage. It was obvious the bouncers only let them in cuz they were wearing almost nothing. The place was packed with asian gangsters. Fight after fight. No wonder the security SUCKS there. More on that in a bit. The music was horrible. I dont know where they found the DJs at but i would be ashamed to let those guys play at my club in front of a crowd. Most people were too messed up to notice anyway. And seriously... Why call it asian night? Yeah sure it was asian promoters and the crowd was 90% asian, but still... it promotes racism IMO. That's like having black and white water fountains. Asian and non-asian club nights... pffff.. The only HUGE plus for this night is that they always have the HOTTEST gogo dancers. Thuy Li... yum! Saturday nights are promoted by Giant. They really make use of the funktion 1 sound system here. Problem is that it is often too loud. Here is a tip for you. They sell ear plugs in the bathroom for $1. You will most likely need them if you dont plan on having hearing damage. Aside from top notch A list DJs the rest of this club is pile of crap. The crowd is just simply loaded with douchebags. If you ever seen the website hot chicks with douchebags, they could have shot all the pictures for that entire site here. The crowd can be really gross. Lots of pretentious people that only come because its Giant. They really have no clue. The security retains their bad attitude from the hip hop nights on this EDM night and treat everyone like crap. They have also been known to beat up patrons in the alley if they get pissed off. You can often spot them doing other... questionable things in the dark corners. DO NOT pay with your credit card at the bar unless you WANT to give them a 20 dollar tip. They take it out without you knowing. Always use cash. Careful who you run into. Many fights break out here with so many of the meat head patrons experiencing roid rage. Most people I know dont like to go to Vanguard. Unfortunately, Giant has contracted many artist to only play for them. So we are often forced to go if we want to see some of the bigger names. Again, the only plus is that the girls dress up nice for this club. Vanguard is always my last choice on the list of Los Angeles super clubs.
