On a recent trip I had both Geno's and Pat's cheese steaks.  I had a head to head comparison. If you're in Philly why not try an iconic food spot, right? Meh. I was unimpressed. I had a Whizzer with onions. It was ok, but not what I was hoping for. Although, it's flashy and very touristy the cheese steak was mediocre. I have eaten lots of cheese steaks at various spots and this one will hold its place at the bottom of my list. If you are in the area try Big John's or Tony Luke's you will have a better cheese steak experience.

For a club, it's kind of disappointing. The drinks are waaaay overpriced ($15 for a shot of plain VS cognac). The interior decor is a poor imitation of the club in Miami and there are these tables in the middle of the back room that seem to attract the wrong type of people to dance on top. Music/DJ is okay but there are honestly, better clubs out there than this.

This is a very cool, unique, moderate-sized place!  Great classic-theater design and decor, intimate atmosphere, excellent sound, modest ticket prices, and 2 decent bars. If you get tired of standing on the main floor you can go upstairs to the balconies and with any luck you can grab a chair for a few minutes, and then stand and look down over the rail right onto the stage.  There is table service too. While the bars lack certain more exotic concoctions like Chartreuse or Galliano, they are reasonably priced and serve the common people's beverages quickly with little crowding or waiting. One star off because the area is a parking hell, from hell.  The 1000 Van Ness garage, almost across the street, accepts validation tickets from GAMH so BE SURE TO GET YOUR BLUE VALIDATION TICKET before you leave, as it allows you to pay $10 instead of $17 for parking.  (If you forgot, just go back to the GAMH and one of the door staff will give you the blue ticket.)  However, 1000 Van Ness is most always full all the way down the endless spiral descending ramp, which is VERY hell-like, and comes to a dead end at the bottom where you will have to do a 4-point turn to extricate yourself!  So don't count on this garage if you arrive at 8:55 PM for a 9 PM show. And if you can't get garage parking, then God help you.  Your car will overheat and stall before you find street parking here on a Friday or Saturday night.
