by Elisa R. on I've decided that this is my new favorite bar! I have an amazing time every time I come here. The music is great--everyone is always dancing and having fun. The crowd is fun and unpretentious. The drinks are delicious (especially the RPG...with fresh ginger..mmmm). The decor is perfect, dark and cavernous with beautiful chandeliers. And the bartenders are cute and friendly... The door is strict and they will unfailingly tell you that you can't get in without reservations... but if you stick around and you're a girl you can usually get in (and it's worth it). Great bar... couldn't ask for more (well except for maybe Sebastian's phone number)
by Calandra Stuttgen on Look, if you can't afford it and you're not hot enough to club at Minx ... stay the F away! Stop whining! And so what if it's "in Glendale and not Hollywood?" Glendale is right next to freaking Hollywood! Minx is in a nice area just off the freeway in the foothills. You don't think that you pay for valet parking at clubs in Hollywood? Then you must club in Monrovia! Of course you are supposed to dress up, losers! It's not a neighborhood sports bar. Who the hell wears Vans surf shoes to a night club? What a creep! I've always been let in for free at Minx. Girls that don't and thing they should are fooling themselves. Dress your ass up a little and I'm not talking about your new outfit from Forever 21. And get thee to a gym three times per week! This place has an upscale decor and plenty of security. Your car is safe. So what if an In-and-Out is next door? Your car is parked in the street next to a massage parlor in Hollywood! But some of the complaints are legitimate which is why I'm knocking off a star. First, they MUST find better DJs! I've complained to management and don't understand why they can't find DJs who can spin GOOD dance music! Second, the bartenders need to be hotter and much friendlier. They're cool with me but I've seen them copping attitudes with people who don't deserve it. But you know, don't run up to the bar asking for free drinks and expect to be treated like royalty! Third, the waiters are stupid and the food really is slightly overpriced given that the restaurant is always empty. But I must congratulate Minx on seemingly keeping out the riff raff. It's nice to be able to visit an upscale club in the Valley once in a while and get out of Hollywood and the West side.
by Tenesha Noffsinger on Oh my. You can really mess yourself up here. Don't ever drive here. It's one of those places where they won't cut you off and you might see a fight. And there's a really good chance of waking up with a stranger. So when I came home from sea, this is where my friends took me. And it was everything I said. We met a bunch of people, took them back to my place, a girl hid in my room, everybody (including her boyfriend) left, I went to bed and Hey! So there's the possibility of great happenings, but I can easily see things ending badly, too. And if you're not in the mood to get your toes stepped on and drinks spilled on you, then you should go somewhere nicer. This place is like a good college party.
