The single worst restaurant in Manhattan. If you know restaurants in NYC, save your money. This poor excuse for a tourist attraction meets trendy Manhattan Asian Fusion restaurant has the worst food known to man. My sister and I went for lunch a couple of weeks ago and the service was TERRIBLE- the waiter forgot simple things like my sister's green tea. Having waited tables in NYC for a number of years, I KNOW the restaurant was NOT busy and we were the only people in his section. Then the food came out. We had asked for a side of chinese broccoli and the kitchen took it upon themselves to split it up and put it on our plates instead of putting it on the side. THIS IS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! What if one of us didn't want the broccoli? Well regardless, the appetizers were horrendous as well. I had the peeking duck spring rolls. I almost threw up they were so nauseating. By some greater miracle, they had to evacuate the building and we didn't have to pay for a thing. $200 saved. Don't waste your time. Go to Buddakan instead.

my boss' last day was yesterday so my co-workers and i went out to stk for dinner.  i was excited to go because i love steak.  then i heard it was in the meatpacking district and my excitement wore off a little; i prefer to stay away from places that make you wait in line outside just for a drink.  still, i figured i'd go with an open mind and dinner was on the company's dime, so i had nothing to lose. i got to the restaurant after my co-workers.  it's a good thing i knew where they were seated because the hostess stand was empty.  BAD.  i wanted to check my coat, but didn't want to stand around waiting because i was starving so i just went right to the table. i ordered a small skirt steak cooked rare and asparagus on the side.  the steak was cooked perfectly, but the taste was just okay.  the steak is supposedly dry aged, but it tasted like steak i picked up at the grocery store and cooked myself.  i was so annoyed the asparagus had lemon zest on it; it overpowered the taste of the asparagus.  the foie gras french toast, however, was perfect.  the taste and texture of the roasted apples complemented the foie gras very well. steak houses are notorious for being testosterone magnets, making them not too comfortable for most women.  stk is billed as a steak house with a femine touch, a place where women can have steak and not have to worry about the ball-scratching asshole leering at her and her friends. i can appreciate the intentions behind stk, but i doubt i will ever go back.  the food was okay, but i don't think it was worth the money.  not a surprise really, considering this is how i feel about the rest of the meatpacking district.  i hate being in places where the testosterone is palpable, but it's a small price to pay for the perfect steak.
