The Head of Security at Lucky Strikes Bowling Alley on 42nd Street is a Racist he clearly discriminates against Black people. The First time I went to Lucky Strikes he denied my entrance "Stating that after a certain amount of time sneakers are not permitted in the BOWLING ALLEY, fine as ridiculous as sound I took it as Lucky Strikes enforces a strict dress code, but after retrieving my vehicle from the Parking garage as I pulled back on front of Lucky Strikes I noticed that he Allowed entrance to a young Caucasians Male wear a Grey Zip, Hoodie Baggy jeans and Sneakers. So this Saturday February 5th, 2011 a friend of mine invited me there for his birthday Celebration I made to wear Shoes, and a Button up, as I arrive im approached by the same head of security he asked me for my ID, he looks me up and down and says " we have a dress code what do you have underneath" I said " A Button up" he said " Let me see it" Mine you we are by the water and its 30 something degrees outside, then he says 'when you go inside take your hate off and tuck in your necklace ( I had on a button down the necklace was already inside my shirt) as im zipping up my winter coat I shook my head he say " Is There a Problem" I started to say something about this procedure then I stop and I said " Im Saying.." and shut up he then says to the other 2 security guards " Don't let him in have a nice night" and walks off in the other direction.

I finally got to check this place out last night and I was impressed, it definitely has personality.  It felt a little like bizarro world inside though.  I have never been to a show were people made two single file lines to order drinks, politely tap you on the shoulder and say excuse me to get by, and calmly tap their toes to the beat.  I guess I'm not the only gettin' old.  I would give 5 stars but they charge 3.50 for pbr, booo!

celebrated my fiance's birthday here and frequented this establishment with some outta town buddies, on separate occassions, and found my experience here to be highly enjoyable. i haven't had the chance to eat there yet, however their late night dance scene is great!!! super music, small intimate space (can be a sweety negative for some, but you just need to remember to take a smoke break every 15, 20 minutes and you're set to get back on the dance floor), and great crowd. drinks are a little on the stiff side, though. and i wouldn't reccomend getting their ginger cocktails (who knows, it might be your steez, just not mine). overall, a hippity-happening joint, minus the hipsters!
