Anyone that knows me would probably tell you that I'm an overeducated feminist who, if they have had to guess, hated strip clubs and everything they stood for. But anyone who really knows me would tell you I fucking love strip clubs, and this one is by far my favorite. This is no bullshit bikini bar.  The girls get topless and as a great reward for no fully nude, they have a well stocked bar with basically any drink you'd want.   And surprisingly tasty food. One of the things that leave me feeling awkward at most strip joints is how depressingly empty they are.  It's just me, my boyfriend, and a couple of other creepy perverts in the corner seats. Not at Sam's Hofbrau. We got there at 8pm - super early for a strip club - and the place was already packed. It's completely free to get in the front door, the lap dances are done in full public view, and you're offered a crazy ass table dance as you eat your food and drink your beer.  Furthermore this is the only strip club I've ever been to with no drink minimum.  Also, they are one of the few places on earth that actually accepts Discover card (for the food and drinks, of course). I think I'm moving in.

Tao is pricey, luckily I went here with my gf for restaurant week and got the $24.07 lunch. I really like the asian decor with giant buddahs and other cool decorations. It has a nice ambiance. It is rather dark but I guess that's what they're going for. The music was nice too. Our waiter was really friendly. On to the food... I had the bamboo steamed vegetable dumplings for an appetizer. They were good but not great. I had the wok seared NY sirloin, which was really really good. Cooked just like I ordered it (medium) and served with yukon-gold potatoes and mushrooms. I had the fresh fruit and tangerine sorbet for desert. The fruit was exceptionally fresh and the sorbet was very tasty. It came with lychee, blackberries and melon, among other things. Overall, I liked Tao. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars. The prices of the normal menu are very pricey. I understand it's NYC. Would I come back again? Maybe, probably not if it isn't restaurant week though.

The old location was such a great dive. The new location is nice and a little bit roomier I think. They have awesome food. Great seafood. The burger used to be my fav and I swore the best in town, but something happened around the time of the move. The burger is salty now. If you changed the recipe, change it back! They have a good beer menu and good stuff on tap. SFU is an experience in itself. A definite must try!
